left stuff on plane

so got back couple weeks ago. I went shopping at airport on the way there and then took an easyjet flight and left my shopping in the overhead compartment. I know it is my fault, but you try a 3 hour flight with mini ie. I'm bored, I threw and lost my toy for twentieth time, got ear ache, feel sick, press all the buttons, are we there yet etc...

anyway assumed on way back there would be an office to check, they did not have it, checked with easyjet desk nothing, so I contact their lost website upon return, no reply yet...

do they just keep the items, where do they go??

JJGold 11-13-2012 03:48 PM

They have very strict policies and procedures. The cleaning crew are usually the first to board the plane after you get off. They have to do a quick clean before the aircraft is turned for another flight. They should have been the one to turn your stuff in to the appropriate people. How long after you left the plane did you report it lost?

Sorry to hear that Oompa, I know most Airports have an area where stuff gets sent that is lost or left behind. Hopefully you get your stuff back.

Hope they have found your items and are checking receipt...did you leave receipt of purchase in the bag?

Policy is true - lost and found

Contact the Lost Property Office of the airport that you arrived at.

That's quicker ( in the long run) than going to the airline.

Standing rules are that all lost property is taken from the aircraft. It goes to the Lost Property office and is logged.

When you call have all your flight info, time of arrival. Hopefully there will be good news. Did you have travel insurance? Though I guess the value of the goods may be negated by the excess?

:pout:

I contacted the lost property at the airport I arrived at, upon my return to the airport on way back, I went there in person and they did not have it...

The stuff got nicked then.

There will be a ratio of 3:1 on lot property.

3 losts 'kept/acquired' and one handed in.

Common rorts withing the airline industry.

:pout:

meVebay 11-14-2012 05:32 PM

I was very surprised last year when my 400 Benson & Hedges got handed in by the cabin crew on Onur Air.

They aren't all bad :faint:

GreenBean 11-14-2012 05:35 PM

B&H durries are.

:faint:

meVebay 11-14-2012 05:39 PM

Agreed

Only after a quick google of "durries"

Seems to be an Aussie thing!

Stopped smoking last May. Best thing I ever did.

I now buy more lottery tickets, seem to spend more on those than I did "durries"

:help::help:

MM78 11-14-2012 06:00 PM

Durries

Cigarette, Australian saying, commonly used in Queensland, sometimes not understood in other parts of Australia.

Hey bloke, can I scab a durrie of you?

GreenBean 11-14-2012 06:25 PM

Put the billy on, Mate.

Time of a cuppa.

These Aussies say 'scrounge' as well for scab.

Usually used between China plates ;)

it may not do much but it is always worth to put in a report with the lost and found area. you never know what happens, lost luggage has turned up 6 months later, you never know and it can't hurt.

GTB 11-15-2012 04:23 AM

well put it this way oomps
