Dongle error local connection only

Hi
if anyone can offer any advise I would appreciate it greatly :)

Today after a firewall software update my dongle stopped connecting properly (local connection only).
It's not the dongle as that works on another machine.
I have been trying to fix this for hours.
System restore didn't work.
I will have to purchase a new one to see if that works :(
