Who's the cheapest for buying a P.O Box Address?

Who's the cheapest for buying a P.O Box Address for 6 months to one year? I just need some insight and suggestions has i've never rented one before and wanted to get the low down on who might be cheaper if any compared to the United States Post Office.

P.O. Boxes are the cheapest but they are the worst (cannot accept packages from any other service but USPS). The worst thing is you get an address that is obviously a PO Box.

The best ones are the private mail centers. If you find a place that is just a third party that ships for all the carriers then they are a winner. They will usually be cheap, will give you what looks like an actual street address, and they will accept packages from all carriers. This would be a place like Packages-R-Us. Prices range from $15-20 a month for a small box.

UPS Boxes are good in that they will accept mail from all carriers and they usually give you an actual address (some of them use the stupid PMB address which is like P.O. Box). The one problem with them is they tend to be a bit more expensive then the independant mail centers. Prices range from $20-30 a month for a small box.

I don't know where you live 3dfuzion but if you have Ma and Pa P.O. Box places are the best. They accept all Mail from all carriers.

PO Boxes do accept packages from other services such as UPS and fedex. You can use the street address of your post office along with the unit # of your box

What you guys are talking about are the new enhanced PO Boxes. They are not available everywhere because they are still new. Regular PO Boxes do not accept mail from anyone except USPS and do not allow street addresses. See links:

Both Fedex and DHL also state on their websites that they don't deliver to PO Boxes

these 'enhanced' boxes are a mystery even to most post office workers and manager. for years you are able to use the street address and unit # as your address. Most people just do not realize that you can do this because the workers are so clueless. i do it myself without any 'enhanced' boxes

Futuremogul888 12-10-2012 10:11 PM

I do agree that the addresses of mail boxes are very selectively enforced. I have gotten away with putting ste, unit, apt, office, and #. Officially if it is not an enhanced post office you must put PO Box and here are two reasons why you want to be sure if you can get away with using the street address:

The post office may be the uptight kind that does strickly enforce the PO Box address and reject your mail.

The Post office may be part of a larger building with actual units that correspond to the PO boxes numbers. So the only thing stopping your mail from getting delivered to other people is the PO Box notation.

Also keep in mind that officially UPS, Fedex, and DHL do not deliver to PO Boxes regardless of how you address it. I have heard of people still receiving these packages at a PO Box because it is selectively enforced.

What this means is that if you use a street address with a PO Box you may see huge problems, problems from time to time, or none at all. But it is a chance you take.

If you find an enhanced PO Box you are golden. USPS has the best prices available for their boxes.

No, it's one of those inflated shipping stores that charge an arm and a leg to rent a P.O. Box. Anyway, without question they accept all packages from UPS, FedEx and USPS. I won't have to worry about that part. Besides i only will use it for 3 to 6 months.
