Displayport on Laptop...
 

I recently just purchased a new laptop and this one came equipped with a displayport instead of a HDMI port.

Does anyone have any experiences with hooking a displayport to a HDTV using a adapter cable? I ordered the cable below yesterday, and am hoping for the best in regards to a easy hook-up. :)

Not sure it carries the sound though...

I have the same class model, HP 2560p elitebook, the smaller model. It comes with a displayport also. I dont have problems hooking up the small laptop to any LCD TV.

Just enjoy that class leading 3 year warranty. If you ever get any problems with it, the total turn around, including shipping, is 1 week. Other consumer laptops are several weeks or months (this laptop is business based, not consumer based).

I would also check if the laptop only came with 1 memory module. Most elitebooks only come with 1 module, adding the 2nd module will increase performance by over 25-30% since its only acting in single memory mode instead of double mode. Very cheap and fast upgrade, under 2 min.

Here is something I didn't know...

HP EliteBook owners DO NOT get put on hold when calling HP support, nor do they get transferred to a tech in a foreign country.

WOW! I was in contact with my tech (from New Mexico) within 2 minutes of my actual call. The tech told me the cable I bought will work just fine for the my Plasma TV as a HDMI connection would. We also discussed the warranty info.

FYI: If you buy a HP EliteBook from a reseller like NewEgg or TigerDirect, you only get a 1yr warranty with the notebook, not the 3yr warranty.
