That stuff never goes on sale, unless you know someone who transports them...

Packattack12 01-16-2013 11:50 PM

Supposedly DoubleA sells them, but every time I asked for more info he doesn't give any...

But....do you have access to Best Buy's private marketplace?

You can find some killer deals on Apple products there. It's mostly all returned or refurb goods.

Think bestbuy is USA only right?

Packattack12 01-17-2013 08:13 AM

Yeah I think so. But if you use a VPS with a US IP to access the Best Buy site you'll be able to sign in.

For the usual reasons avoid ebay
Gawd, you meet some shocking sellers there :pound:

To keep your costs down, it would be preferable to shop locally as you suggested. London, eh? BBL

Would have to be checked but power source may be an issue.

UK is 220V & USA is 110V

Funny thing is that MANY computers these days are built to auto-deal with both voltages - check the manuals :)

I just look at 2 laptops at ...best buy (of all the places) and they automatically deal with 220 V vs. 110 V.

Packattack12 01-18-2013 11:27 PM

Couldn't you buy the MacBook from the USA and then just get a European power cord separately?

Right, in fact I don't think that there's been one that couldn't do that for a long time. You just need the right power cable and away you go.

Personally I'd buy from eBay and do cash on collection... since you are in that great city called London, there should be plenty of sellers near you.

rsot 01-20-2013 12:33 AM

And meet in a safe public place - maybe bring a friend or 2 :)

What about warranty issues? Not convinced of using ebay.

Friends as rsot suggested would not be an issue LOL.
