Default Buyer wants me to drive to his house

So this guy buys a $15 item from me yesterday (free shipping as well). Sees from the product location that I am in the next town over - about 5 miles away. Sends me an email today wants me to drop the item off in his mailbox cause his wife needs them and is going away tomorrow.

Now I probably get neg feedback from him cause I didnt personally deliver his item. What`s next? I have to buy them lunch?

Its a scam.
Ship the item out.
Once you deliver it, you will get a chargeback.

If you are able to, refund the money and then meet him with the cash.
Other then that, Ship it out WITH tracking.

Agree with cjmixers, I don't care if they are two houses down the block...ship with tracking.

I would simply explain you would love nothing more than to personally deliver all your items but due to having to sell a lot of items including your car to pay for hit men to deal with people that leave nagative feedback you therefore are not in a posistion to do so ..

if he negs you for that, inform ebay and refer them to eb messages and neg may be removed...similar happened to me, vindictive neg, as it was a large item, expensive postage, ...nasty nasty person...they are NARU now anyways...that will teach him to mess with my 100% fb PowerSeller acc...

tell him you can not because of paypal policies, you must ship the item, give them a chance to cancel the transaction before you ship. i've had people ask if they can pickup merchandise, never for me to come to them.

I guess what it amounts to, is what would someone do to prevent a negative feedback on their account for a $15. item ???

If it was me, I would take the 10 mile round trip drive to make them happy.

I've done a lot more than that in the past to prevent a bad rating.

I would too - maybe bring a friend - save on shipping and also might get great feedback.

If he does a dispute though...you would not have tracking to protect you. Maybe have him sign something.

get his details
Phone him.

Ask to arrange a meeting at Starbucks or similar. You want nothing to do with going to a person's house, nothing.

I agree,

Like CL, nothing but problems going onto someones property.

As GB stated meet at a public place.

I would just drive up there and give it to him. I have done this before. I never worry about them leaving a negative feedback or them trying to scam me because at the end of the day no one wants to scam people that know where they live

Just feel them out on the phone. I can tell in a min if I will meet with that person. Even if u feel comfortable just always be safe. There's always people out there to do bad

LOL

I always meet people at a busy public place and never go alone.

For me I wont do this for ebay period.

Do it for CL a lot and always take someone with me.

Hubby takes care of that.

Once he steps out of the van anyone who thinks they are meeting a frail lady swallows hard and realizes a guy with tree trunk arms and size 14 shoes is not going to put up with any funny business.

I never meet anyone by myself ever.

And for those who have not done any CL yet, never have them come to your house. Just too risky.
