Google Chromebook

I am thinking of getting one...

I don't have a problem of developing programs that are not available myself :P

But is it worth you think ?

Price is very tempting !

Google and Chrome are two words that make me cringe when it comes to stealth.

Looks decent - quality and price.

Me too....lol :snicker:

Loads of other 'tried and tested' options.

If it was not going near 'stealth', it's OK.

Otherwise I would avoid as None Other & SimpleX suggest.

Chrome OS has been flaky in my usage.
:pout:

Why do you say so? Do you think setting up Stealth accounts on ChromeBook is not OK? I just ordered 3 Chromebooks for setting up stealth Paypal accounts.

I suppose that Chromebooks allow for different users accounts setup? I havent tested or tried before.

trustywatchguy 02-14-2013 08:33 PM

I read that it can also be shared among different users

" The device is shareable, allowing you to create your own user account and others for family and friends. Google says the benefit of multiple accounts is that, "everyone has their own files, apps and settings, and you never have to worry about anything getting messed up by someone else."

As long it has this function, I guess making stealth accounts should be fine, right?

The problems is not IF it can be configured with separate user accounts but HOW it actually does it

trustywatchguy 02-15-2013 06:51 AM

I suppose it works about the same way like Mac or Windows system with different account user logins?

As stated before, there are many other 'tried and tested' options available to use, with great success. Google Chrome is an all new OS, where people on here and in general have very little experience with so far. So to risk your 'stealth' project on a 'unproven' method might not be the best thing to do.

The Google brand love's information, how they use it, and how it effects 'stealth' is anyones guess.

If your still willing to give it a try, test the water with ONE eB/PP, and be opened minded enough to realise it may not work.

Keep us posted with your experience.

On the face of it yes it works like most other OS's and browsers but it is not how it appears to handle separate user accounts that is the issue but how it actually stores and uses data that is the problem.

Advice is just that advice, if you choose not to use it that's your call but why seek advice from experienced stealthers if you are not going to heed it.

As someone very recently reminded me, Stealth is simple, follow it and it works.

Check this forum for the results of users who thought they knew better and ignored solid advice and suffered the consequences.

The chrome operating system on these devices is nothing like windows or others.
Chromebooks are not laptops , they have very limited functions except surfing the web .
Chrome operates on a cloud system , this means very little info is stored on the device and most of your files are stored on the cloud or googles server if you prefer.
So you save a picture for example - its not on your device its stored on googles server .
The cloud system has been hacked many times where people can get hold of everything you would normally store on a laptop including email details passwords , accounts , pictures , files , the list goes on.
The operating system on these books also updates on a regular basis where google collect info from the device.
Also there is reports when switching user accounts the browsers never shut down and remain active which causes links on users accounts .
So all in all if you want google to see everything you type and everything you view and then store it on a server they actually offer prizes to hackers to try and attack then this is the operating system for you.

Personally i would not touch them with a sh1tty stick.

Now there is a man who understands.

testdog 02-15-2013 11:58 AM

Ok ! Not getting one :P I'll go for a Mac.

NoneOther 02-15-2013 12:20 PM

Wise choice.

Once you go Mac you'll never go back

testdog 02-15-2013 03:03 PM

I'm already a Mac user :D

Just want to switch from desktop to laptop.

NoneOther 02-15-2013 03:04 PM

Then I'm really surprised you even considered getting a Chromebook
