Out in Russia and Eastern Europe, Mother`s Day is in January if I recall correctly...

Your recollection is incorrect.

Russia celebrates Mother's Day on the last Sunday of November.

For Eastern Europe, the day depends on the specific country.

The day gets celebrated between February and November elsewhere.

Only Iran and Panama honor Mother's Day in December.
