What do you think about the board game monopoly?
 

Just like to know some of your thoughts about it....

Was fun to play when I was a kid, haven't played it since.

A Good game to sell during Christmas if you have certain editions...

I also played a lot as a kid. Not so much as an adult. Good memories, though. I also heard they replaced the iron with a cat. ABOUT TIME! Finally, some feline equality!

It's a fun game but can become heated with competitive players.. I like playing with good friends.

Other good games: Cranium and Settlers of Catan

MM78 brings to mind another Monopoly memory. No matter how smart you are, the dice can go against you. And that mirrors real life.

Settlers of Catan is getting quite the popularity spike. I remember playing Monopoly growing up - had the UK edition hah...Piccadilly!

We used to play this game when I was younger.

My Da was always the banker....

Always had plenty of money.

Then we found out he had a second set of notes...

We were taught young.

I usually blew a fuse when I couldnt pass go or collect my $200....

Best board game ever. Even had a version for the WII a few years ago that was great

Ha yes - blow by the starting point and land on tax...or some property with hotel and houses to kill.

Love trying to get all railroads...

I still play the psp hacked version when ever I fly someplace.

Offer to make coffee for everyone. Stand up and knock the board flying.

It was my favourite board game, I did not ever like scrabble, cluedo or the others....

started playing it again recently, I cannot go to the loo or take my eyes off the board as we have a young cheater cheater pumpkin eater...

The Pokemon monopoly edition was a huge cash sale back at the peak time if I recall correctly

Funny you say that.... Before playing I would always tell my friends to not feel offended by the way I play. THEY HATE ME! Also lately I have been losing (I never lose) because in the beginning of the game they all agree not to talk to me, completely ignore me.... Any property I would land on.... that was all I get. There mission was to only destroy me, as long as I lose they all win lol

Franklin Edition looks stylish

We used to actually have neighborhood tournaments as kids.

And yes, I ended up trading all the bad non landing spots for all the good high frequency landing spots and won a lot.

Now they have the digital banker so you dont have to count money etc.

Still have to watch the banker. (GB :heh:)

Battleship was always fun as a kid also.

Monopoly, Triopoly, Battleship, Connect Four, Operation, Clue, Gambler, Hi-Ho Cherry-O, Scrabble, Uno, Yahtzee, Life, Payday and all kinds of card games.

This was before we had computers, the internet, cable TV or even the VCR.

WOW! Sounds like our homes. We used to move around a lot. But all the places had all of these games available

Our Da loved poker and euchre as his favourite card games. Then for special times we were allowed to play Bridge

Monopoly is still aces

There is a site from The Netherlands that did really good translations of Monopoly in Russian. Play drinking vodka and win big time
