***Hydrocephalus Association Walk Fundraiser: Help a good cause*** Hello fellow Aspkin members,
I come to you with something near to my heart. In 2011 my Wife's Great Niece (Megan) passed away from Hydrocephalus also known as "Water in the Brain" She was diagnosed at the young age of 8 and went through countless operations, unfortunately it was not enough. What exactly is Hydrocephalus?
Wikipedia defines it in the following way:
Hydrocephalus[a] /ˌhaɪdrɵˈsɛfələs/, also known as "water on the brain," is a medical condition in which there is an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the ventricles, or cavities, of the brain. This may cause increased intracranial pressure inside the skull and progressive enlargement of the head, convulsion, tunnel vision, and mental disability. Hydrocephalus can also cause death. Although it does occur in older adults, it is more common in infants.
After Megan's passing my Wife and her Niece started attending the Hydrocephalus Association Walk to help raise funds to help those diagnosed with this condition. Donate to a Good Cause
I have also decided to join them in this walk and I have set a goal of $200 to help with this worthy cause. My Personal Donation Page: Carlos Vargas's Personal Page for 2013 Fresno, CA Hydrocephalus Association WALK
There is no specific donation amount, anything you can spare will be extremely appreciated!
