Any suggestions on a good router for stealth?

I currently have Comcast with a surfboard modem that doesn't have wireless build in. For the wireless I use my ancient router netgear WGR614 v6 and to be quite honest that thing works for stealth like a charm but man it is slow!!!

Any suggestions on what a good router (keeping in mind stealth)?

I also have Comcast. My modem from them is the Arris TM602g. I use it with my Netgear N600. Works excellent.

Changing the MAC address to obtain a new IP takes less than a minute through Netgear's web page.

It all depends on what you want to spend for a router. Obviously the Dark Knight is one of the best but I don't want to splurge $150 - $200 to get it.

The Netgear N600 is a great home wifi router and it will only cost you roughly $50 or less on eBay for a new one.

I like the Netgear router myself for my other homestead - works well...though currently with my wi-fi modem, dont really need a router

do you guys have to disconnect and then connect your modem after you change the mac in the router settings?

For me, I just need to modify the last 2 digits of my mac address in the router. Disconnect and wait for about 30 seconds and then reconnect.

After I reconnect, I will get assigned a new IP from Comcast.

AND a great trick is to retain your MAC addresses so you can reuse them with the same IP. This is convenient, especially w/ Comcast, because they have a longer lease time.

I power down the modem and wait a bit

Yeah, same here. I have to change the mac then reboot the modem. My IPs stay alive for good week or even 2!!!
I think I remember someone saying that their modem reboots the modem automatically when mac is changed and no need for unplug/plug thing. So, I was just wondering if anyone had anything like that. Seams we are all doing the same thing though :)

I usually do the direct connection to the modem when I use steal. I have all of my virtual machines setup the way that if the mac of the virtual mach doesn't match to the mac of the host it won't even connect to the net. Just another way of making sure that I don't log in with an IP for another seller acct :)

I do the exact same, same Router Same technique

And I keep the same MAC until after a while will give an old IP used previous on another account

But the more u stay logged in and the more often you log in with the same MAC u carry the same IP longer

Sometimes I'll keep picking the same for 3 weeks with Comcast
