I'm beginning to wonder if Amazon will eventually end up controlling the majority of retail sales in the US.

Of that happens, will they change their name to the Umbrella Corporation?

I can see it now. Anything you want, delivered via air in 30 minutes or less. Electronics, groceries, bedding, or whatever. And if you don't pay your Amazon credit card bill, they deliver a "reminder" via air as well:

bahh that cannot be real its gotta be a publicity stunt!!

I mean I'm not saying its technically not possible but there's a lot of variables to make it not workable in the real world.

I mean what about air traffic control and scammers but be there with thier guns ready to shoot them down lol. Free goodies in the air just shoot!

I agree it is not viable, cannot do long distances, addresses are not that simple, they are a mish-mash, people will shoot them down with air rifles to get package - heck I would even.

This could add new sources of revenue for Amazon, too. They could mount cameras on the drone and try to get pictures of you naked or having sex, then blackmail you with them. Or, take pictures of your property that could be reviewed by the police for any potential illegal activity (didn't you know that trampoline was prohibited by local law??? $5,000 FINE!!!!).

I saw a video segment on those drones...look so fragile for the takedown...I could see people take the drone down just for the package....

And then flipping the drone for fun on eB hah

ha the idea is very intriguing without a doubt but i just can't see flying drones getting approved anytime soon and the amount of lawsuits if something goes wrong would be out of this world but if they are able to get it approved and working flawlessly that would be amazing!
