| easy.bake.oven | 01-20-2014 03:11 AM | BIOS error after flashing - can I fix it? I tried to flash the BIOS on a fujitsu ah531 laptop but I messed up.
I think I flashed it with the wrong BIOS and also in the instructions, it said to disable Bitlocker - I use truecrypt and did not disable truecrypt.
So, when I went to flash the bios through windows, it said the pc will now restart.
When it tried to restart, nothing happened.
Everytime I power on the laptop, I get a blank screen, no harddrive light or activity, only the power light.
I have tried pressing f3 / f12 / esc / del etc. on bootup but nothing happened - blank screen.
I have tried to disconnect the main battery for 5 minutes then reconnect, but did not fix.
I have tried to insert a bootable windows 8 installation disk in the cd drive but all that happens is the cd drive makes the spinning noise for 5 seconds then that is it, blank screen.
I am a bit gutted as it is a handy little laptop and helped my do more work in the day as I found using 2 laptops increased how much work I could do in a day.
Do you think if I remove the harddrive it may work?
Or if I remove the internal CMOS battery for a few minutes and put back - will this work?
I don't want to start taking it apart for no reason and maybe break something else so any advise would be appreciated.
