Amazon increasing prime fees :(

Supposedly amazon is increasing fees to $99-$119 up from current price of $79. Too bad but still worth it but it is becoming less and less worth it with taxes they are now charging for a lot of states.

I think this was inevitable. Jeff Bezos has always wanted to give consumers a reason to choose Amazon and has chosen to base that mainly on low prices. This has led to low profit margins. Amazon Prime exacerbated that.

Amazon saw early on that books would be sold digitally, and became the dominant player in that market. The same thing happened with music. Now, they can see that the future of movies is not in DVD's, but in streaming - it just makes sense. But tying it to Amazon Prime has to be costing them a fortune. Still, there is no way they are going to let Netflix have the streaming market to themselves. I'm sure the popularity of iTunes for music still burns Jeff, and burns him BAD!

Also, this is not yet a "done deal" - they have just floated the idea - probably to see what the blowback will be.

US Postal charges going up....only natural that Amazon would follow...huge hike though but...eh, all about make more profit
