UK e-commerce hosting

Hi,
Does anyone recommend a company for setting up a website and listing products quickly on it ?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip James.

Would it be easy to integrate a stealth ebay / paypal business into this? ie can I sign up with stealth details?

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

I have never fully integrated it with eBay, but I have a couple of sites with them that do use stealth PayPal accounts as the payment method. Never had any issues. I have signed up both with real details and stealth details. Again never had issues with either. I operate the site as you would a stealth PP/EB. Whether this is entirely necessary I could not say, but better safe than sorry IMO.

The one downside with them is they do not accept Moneybookers as a payment method which is my preferred choice. They also have no phone support, so it can take 24 hours to hear back from them sometimes.

Many thanks for that. :)

have you ever used shopify ?

very expensive

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

Shopify has some upsides and I did consider them, but went with Create due to the aforementioned reason. I simply could not see what they were charging £50 odd a month for tbh.

there shops do tend to look better and more professional from what I have seen

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

when using create.com, are you able to buy the domain and hosting package using paypal as payment and not using your personal details then ?

did you consider any other companies like 1&1 ? godaddy ?

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

godaddy's prices look good but benefit US more, us in the UK lose out but still a much better price than shopify

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

surely it doesn't matter where hosting company is located and we can use any countries hosting packages. Or am I missing a point ?

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

Check out godaddy options, If you pay upfront for 12 months its £15.99 i think per month
They offer for the US a free merchant account and also advertising credits

I don't see why they wouldn't allow us the credits to be honest
The merchant is understandable

I haven seen any of their pages though.

It will all work out expensive, you need to make sure you get the traffic or it will all ad up including a merchant account

Re: UK e-commerce hosting

they really have a lot of options, just a had a quick look

but prices seem okay compared to some sites.

Some sites tend to be very slow opening up for some companies, maybe too many pictures on the site
