Lot of people were writing off Tanaka - not doing too badly so far

6-1 2.39 ERA. I would say the guy is murdering the competition thus far. You never know once some these teams get a second look. I remember Nomo in the 90s came over and was unbeatable then all off a sudden got pounded. Same with Matusaka for the Redsox 1 good season then stunk. But Darvish has held up thus far. So you never know.

Bad loss for the Giants today. Matt Cain goes down and their key man in the bullpen Cassila goes down running to first base on a garbage at bat! I am all for National League baseball. But that is a tough loss. The thing about the Giants more than anything. Their bullpen is lock down last 3-4 years. When they are in a close game or leading the majority of the time it is automatic. Two big losses.

Everyone is going to be surprised when the Blue Jays win the AL East. Buehrle is having an on year. So is Melky. Outside the AL East playing in Toronto at home they seem to destroy opposing teams.

Jays lost 2 in a row to the Royals so winning streak is over...for now

Randy Johnson, the guy the Expos should have kept.

And the Jays are back. BIG TIME.
Heres hoping this is the start of a new winning streak.
And heres hoping to again experience the victory celebrations in the streets of Toronto we had back in '93 when they won back to back world series :)

The Jays have a great home field advantage much like the Rockies. They are loaded with talent grabbing the entire Marlins free agency dream team a few years ago. Plus the Melk man on PEDs or not.

Tigers have a solid team granted the bullpen doesn't come in. A's win lots of regular season games but can't put it together in the post season. I said it before. I would take the Jays to win the AL East. They are the most complete team and have the most going for them.

I will call it right now. I foresee a Giants vs Jays World Series. Many months to play and lots of teams still in the mix. You never know what will happen in postseason. But in m opinion these are the two teams playing the best baseball in each league.

Who would have though Hudson would have had a CY type season at 38 thus far. And Moorse production like this.

Jays making it to the World Series would rock - still long season ahead though and they tend to fizzle...

I agree. Making it to the playoffs is key #1. Winning the division is also important give the sudden death Wild Card game. However, in baseball just about more than any sport especially in the first 5 game series. Having a top record in baseball doesn't always mean that much it certainly hasn't the past 5 or more years.

A's keep winning too. You look at their team and scratch their head as to how they play so good. They lose two starters to Tommy John before the season starts and plug in Jessie Chavez and Drew Pomeranz. They don't miss a freaking beat.

I know Bob Melvin is a solid manager but what Billy Beane has done there. I have no idea how he has done it. I know the Saber-metrics and the regression analysis stuff. But honestly, it really is an engima what the has have done so far this year and the last two seasons.
