Now Craigslist Requires Phone Verification
 

I went to post a add on craigslist today and I had to verify my phone number. Did anyone else run into this?

Someone posted about this a couple days ago, I'm too lazy to do a search but it was said this is only for certain categories.

I tried to post in the small biz and service section and it hit me with the phone verication.

I just used my home phone.

I know that ebay owns part of craigslist but the phone number I used is linked to an account anyway.

It also said in the registration form that I had to accecpt cookies, or do not turn off cookies - something like that.

So soon ebay, craigslist and pay pal will link you to one another.

Awesome. I wonder when my toilet will start to require phone authorization to flush it ...

imjustme you give the best quotes. I love the other quote where you said ebay sends you a rectal DNA scanner required before listing that must turn brown in 3 swipes or it locks up.

anyone know how to get around this with a phony number? I've tried tossable digits and vumber with them and both were "unverifiable".

You can try using a Tracfone. They run about 12-20 bucks and come with free minutes.

Just posted an item for sale on craigslist in the electronics category and no phone verification. I have seven listings on craigslist, all the same item using different e-mail addresses. Craigslist has never given me a problem on their part, the customers on the other hand...

I can do that too but you need to log out or check on another computer to see if your ad is ghosted that's the problem i"ve been having, it will show that it is posted but looking on another computer I can never find the ad.

I search on the same computer, sometimes is ghosted, sometimes is not. So thats when I delete the listing and re-post it so then it shows up on the search!

You use a different email to re-post because whenever I delete if I re-post it does nothing because it just re-post a ghosted ad.

Nope, I didn't. I tried today and its showing up on the searches. I only have 1 listing on a single email account though.
