Yahoo has my info!

I just looked in my main Yahoo account and they have my home address, full birthdate, and home telephone number. I didn't give them all of this info. This is a little scary! How did they do this? Does anyone else see this in your Yahoo account?

I think you likely gave them the info when you made the e-mail OP - you just have forgotten that you did...?

Yahoo asks for birthdate, address, phone?????

I don't think I gave them that info. This email was used with one of my real PP accounts, so maybe they grabbed the info from PP emails? Yahoo is known to snoop in the content of your emails.

yes they ask for that when u make a yahoo email. I just made one and now they text your phone a code to complete the process, this was for yahoo mail only

You must have given them the information on account opening. There is no way they could do that without your permission. Data protection Act if you are in the Uk am sure there must be something similar in America.

Email them if you are that worried.

I have 3 Yahoo accounts.

All have info, including phone numbers that I supplied on account creation.

How old is this account?

I'm not sure, but I would guess it is 10-15 years old.

My super old yahoo account is within that period. Rarely use the account, of course.

It has all the info as you said.

Luckily it is all out of date now.

If you are concerned crocus, close them up and move on - likely entered your full info 10-15 years ago - happens
