Federal regulators, who helped shepherd the deal, stressed that the transition for WaMu customers would be "seamless."
"There will be no interruption in services and bank customers should expect business as usual come Friday morning," FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair said in a statement.

But what happens to my WAMU stocks now?

All Wamu Common Stock is worthless.

Now I have my money out of Wamu I took more time to read the article.

The FDIC declared WAMU insolvent and Seized the bank. JP Morgan then stepped in and bought their retail banking and CC business. From the article it was unclear as to the fate of their mortgage business, which was caused all the problems.

Oh on another note,WAMU has 188 billion in deposits, the losses the FDIC in the tiny Indymac failure wiped away 15% of their fund, This will dwarf that and could very bankrupt the fdic. No worries though they can always get more from congress.

What other online banks are good. I was using Wamu to transfer my paypal funds but it looks like I have to find another bank. Thanks.

Finnaly there is NO MORE DOUBT in my mind. All this years I still had doubt about the so called Illuminati, NWO, Elite conspiracy theories but NO MORE. It is CLEAR as day now. Back to WAMU, guess it is dangerous to trust banks. Banks have failed before in history and sadly there will be failures again.

yeah HBOS went down last week in UK, then it was Northern Rock last year. Best to invest in Gold :)

At first glance the microchipping thing sounds far out there. But if you look at some concrete examples, it becomes less so.

-- 2008 All newly issued US passports have an RFID chip that be serripticiously (sp) read. In fact soon after the passports came out, they were hacked. If you carry a passport anyone can now track you

-- Regulations to involuntarily chip patients with alzheimer's.

-- Regulations requiring pets to be chipped as part of their licensing

-- New USDA regulation that ALL farm animals to be chipped

-- Proposed rules that US Servicemen be chipped

-- Mexican attorney general employees were involuntarily chipped in 2006

Those are all concrete examples that point the way. Personally I think, Why bother? You can already be tracked by your cellphone. But then again, I support with a civil and free society.

Anyone watched the TV show Charlie Jade? They used synthetic-diamond microchips and they could track people all over the earth in the Alphaverse.

A year or two ago I remember WaMu always had protesters outside their branches due to labor strikes. I almost got a bank account with them once and I am glad that I did not.

According to the WaMu site it should be virtually "seamless"

but keep us updated on how that goes.

As you can see everything that I have told you in my previous posts is unfolding. Again you can call me what you want but like I said I will be the last one to laugh in your face (metaphorically speaking). Today Nikki 225 (related to Asian market) went down almost 10 percent!

I predict that tomorrow October 24 2008 the Dow Jones will drop hard. How hard you ask? No one really knows. It might be "slight" drop of 3 percent and yet it could be 3 times harder.

It DOESN'T matter if you owne(d) a stock or not, it DOESN'T matter if you have 401k in your bank account or under ten thousand. What DOES matter is that the financial market is crashing ... We are currently in recession even though it's not technically can be labeled as one. You must think global eceonomy. The whole entire world is in DEBT! What you see on the financial arena is the SYMPTOM not the PROBLEM. So when the international market is crashing it indicates that we are for a major international DEPRESSION. The GREAT DEPRESSION of the 1930s will look like picnic compare to whats coming! Everything was planned years ahead by the ruling families. You can ignore the facts but unfortunately your president does not rule the country you live in . All of them are merely puppets to the Ruling Elite. There is no safe place to store your money anymore. Not in your bank, not in stocks, not in gold, silver or currency conversion. The Ruling Elite will eventually propose ONE WORLD CURRENCY! It's entirely possible that at first they will introduce the AMERO (North American Currency) that will include: US, Canada and Mexico. But eventually there WIL BE One World Currency. I warned you about the Asian market today just 3 hours BEFORE it opened and what do you know? Nikkei 225 closed at -6.35 percent This is the lowest Nikkei 225 has been since 1982! Enjoy the ride it's going to get WORSE. Believe me it's NOT the end of it. The illuminati will never stop what they have set in motion. Panicking won't solve anything. I don't believe things will get to a depression, but only a long recession. We can't do anything about it either but work harder and become stronger because of it. In these times the strong only become stronger and the people that panic lose.

I actually like when things turn bad, it seriously makes me work harder and after everything is done and settled I find I'm in a stronger position. Just work harder and keep building on what you have, but don't panic please because it only works to spread fear.

I forgot to mention HANG SENG INDEX (^HSI) dropped close to 13 percent yesterday!

I was somewhat surprised that the FTSE 100 did not drop another 5 percent today but only under 1 percent though CAC 40 dropped almost 4 percent. Nevertheless the European shares fell to a fresh 5-1/2 year closing low on Monday

Since I live in Canada ... Our TSX dropped 8.14 percent today!

You must own some disappointed stocks at the moment.

I just got off of Amzn earlier today with a profit... but that doesn't mean I'm done with it.

Stan's probably the best reason for me to move back to the USA. Maybe when Obama gets to Health Care fixed down there. It's much warmer down there, after all.

People are afarid to be ridiculed for their beliefs because they might be too "out there" so they would rather be a sheep and comply with the rest of the society they live in.
