Well the value goes up & down, but make sure you: a) get the best price; b) don't get conned/burnt in a transaction. Anyway, that's a nice amount of virtual currency though!

I remember back in the day when survey companies were giving these out like confetti. Of course, no one was interested and treated it as a joke currency!

Btw, there's a free Bitcoin class over at Udemy.com (not sure if I can paste the link?).

go to btc.sx with 120 btc leveraged you can make 2btc for each dollar movement in the price. I trade on there all the time sometimes win sometimes lose! but with 120 leveraged you can make a 1000 bucks a point that is crazy money

Unfortunately, I lost everything on a bad trade. Had a tipper screw me over. It's been 7 months and I'm still waiting for it to come up since it's not worth **** anymore.

Re: Paypal - Purchasing Bitcoins?

Wow. If you have 120 Bitcoins, that IS a lot of money! Years ago, they were going for $4 or $5 each. But now, the price of each Bitcoin is now $514.

120 x 514 = $61,680

DMSHARK - Thanks for the tip about purse.io - I have no problem using them to save money on Amazon. I buy a ton of stuff on Amazon!

I don't own any bitcoins. But I love Watching the Keiser Report and Max Keiser talk about Bitcoin. Wish I had a retail website I would use bitcoin on coinbase.

Thought I was the only one, it's a terrible video.

From what I can understand you are simply purchasing something off amazon and having it delivered to someone else who in turn pays you BTC.

If that's the case I wonder how they combat CC fraud?

When using Bitcoins, everything all purchases are recorded publicly on the Block Chain. This network of huge computers record the transactions by solving algorithms known as "hasing". There are no charge backs on bitcoins.

The Block Chain is changing the world. GO freaking figure some computer nerd pissed off at central bankers coming up with this stuff. Unbelievable the global phenomenon Cyrpto Currencies have become.

Re: Paypal - Purchasing Bitcoins?

What I love is the no issues. No chargebacks not a ton of questions, no limits and ship whatever you buy or sell anywhere. What I hate is it is not cash still needs to be converted to get cash. For trusted sources the best think ever for non trusted sources not even an option. Too extreme

Its the extreme volatility that can be troubling. As the network grows I would imagine that it will become less volatile.

If you invest in them yes can be an issue but not when use them as a payment method. I use coinbase and as soon as I have its converted to fiat at the current rate.

In my personal opinion, I don't know if Bitcoin will be the the one who outlasts the rest. However, the Block Chain and Cyrpto is already starting to change the world. Unreal.

Not as good as it was a few years back.

Need dedicated equipment now. Used to be able to do it with just laptop.

The mining game is over even for alt currency. The electricity being used today for mining is unreal. Mining made sense when btc had speculative value.

I thought about doing it in my country where the electricity is dirt cheap, my bill is usually around $3-4 a month

But 1 BTC is worth quite a chunk of USD these days...or is it because the mining option is exhausted?

danshan 09-03-2014 09:47 AM

Re: Paypal - Purchasing Bitcoins?

The mining difficulty is so high in order to make any btc you need to be burning a couple thousand watts to make any btc
