yankee | 10-12-2014 11:11 AM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net What is the 'PING' ? |
easy.bake.oven | 10-12-2014 11:23 AM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net UK 4G EE double speed offer @ about 30.5Mbps odd download speed
If I run it on their 3g network, I get about 5.5Mbps odd download speed |

yankee | 10-12-2014 11:50 AM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net Google helped me understand PING:
The ping is the reaction time of your connection–how fast you get a response after you've sent out a request. A fast ping means a more responsive connection, especially in applications where timing is everything (like video games). Ping is measured in milliseconds (ms). |
khanxyz0z | 10-12-2014 01:14 PM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net it all depends on the area, if your in the city area, your 3g-4g-lte speeds will be slightly slower, than if you were in an open area
but anyhow in new york city, on att network, i usually get like 15 mbps,
if i go around 30 miles away from the city it goes to 38 mpbs down |

Your countries are so big it would be a massive difference, for example the UK, much smaller would have massive speed differences. I can get 100-200mb down where some people can't get more than 2mb. Unless you find someone like 1-2KM away from you, your results will be completely different. Even if they're in the same city, it will be totally different. |
easy.bake.oven | 10-12-2014 01:58 PM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net I thought max for 4g LTE was about 100Mbps, maybe 120.... who does 200Mbps in UK dongle? That's hardcore whoever is giving that speed. I bet is big dollar too.
What dongle you got to get 200Mbps? |

What dongle you got to get 200Mbps? | Sorry. I wasn't clear. I mean't I can get 200mb broadband here, but someone 200 miles from me can't buy more than 2mb, so ghost asking for American and Canadian speed tests is irrelevant because it can vary greatly. Mobile broadband doesn't vary as much, but still it does vary. |
easy.bake.oven | 10-12-2014 04:04 PM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net ^ now that's what I'm talking about man - there is hope for us all still :) |

Your best bet in Canada is probably Rogers since their networks are 100% identitcal to USA AT&T... |

Been waiting for something like this the last 10 years. |
unkown5454 | 10-15-2014 02:13 PM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net Problem is, these speeds are useless as long as data caps are in place. |

unkown5454 | 10-16-2014 12:38 AM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net You don't need hundreds of megabit speeds to sell online. So, unless you are transferring massive files, gaming, etc...those speeds aren't needed until they allow higher bandwidths. You can blow through a few gigs just messing around on Netflix, YouTube, etc... |

This is AT&T 4G LTE in a depression with very poor signal from all providers, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, Tmobile. It's very respectable but ping is rather high compared to a good location. On Sprint LTE I can get 20x these numbers with high bars. |

ovidiu | 10-16-2014 03:29 AM | Re: Internet Speed 3G Vs. 4G. from speedtest.net Hey, all depends on signal clarity and strength. My nephew and niece can play PS4 with low lag on this connection, btw. It's actually better than the Comcast. I'm happy, cause my Sprint phone needs a femtocell just to have a signal over here. 3G and 4G don't do well going up mountains or into depressions. | All times are GMT -5.
