xShevaa7x | 10-15-2014 09:10 AM | Royal Mail Prices Apparently Royal Mail are doing a 3 month trial starting on the 20th with their prices on packages. They will be competing with the couriers and packages that cost approx £9 will cost £3 something instead. I don't know the exact prices as I don't send parcels, but this is what the guy at my local post office told me, and he's been reliable in the past.
Maybe someone else can give some extra info below about all the price changes. |
just_smile | 10-15-2014 09:27 AM | Re: Royal Mail Prices Medium parcels will now cost the same as small parcels. its a fair saving but most people moved over to couriers when royal mail introduced silly sizing rules.
I dont see why anyone would move back. |

I dont see why anyone would move back. | If it was cheaper for me I would use it. I have no loyalty to any brand, they don't care an ounce about you, so no point spending more for the next 3 months if it's cheaper. |

vogeltron | 10-16-2014 04:29 AM | Re: Royal Mail Prices David Cameron must have looked at how poorly run USPS in the States and how screwed up it is as to why to privatize it. If you put Cameron and Obama together they have the Brainpower of two Gerbils running together in a cage. Bush and Blair are looking in drooling on themselves because they are even dumber. |
oompaloompa | 10-19-2014 01:14 PM | Re: Royal Mail Prices well done @volgatron, most of your compatriots probably would think you were refering to cameron diaz...
the heavier large letter and small package catagory is the killer for me, as lower value items cost alot to send, and no competition on that from the couriers.... |

You are right, unfortunately my compatriots are largely idiots. They have no idea what goes on in the rest of the world. They are sheltered by the US media. |

Geegee83 | 10-20-2014 05:00 AM | Re: Royal Mail Prices I mostly send letters and large letters, when I have to send a parcel I get a bit lost and have to refer to my handy Royal Mail poster on the wall.. still never convinced I've done it right.
I miss the old days of postage being based on weight only, ahhh, simplicity! |

So easy then.
And we could leave negs for the buyers too.
So good then.

Geegee83 | 10-20-2014 05:37 AM | Re: Royal Mail Prices Haha, yes I remember :)
Any yes, I remember being able to leave Negatives too, and none of this defect rate or being worried about losing your business.. it's all gone a bit **** now, but still good for making money, just the fun and excitement has been taken away.
I guess so many people started doing it and the few spoiled it for the rest of us!
Oh yes rsot, I also used to get cheques and postal orders in the mail, only get the odd one or two now from older buyers usually. |
JamesNorth101 | 10-20-2014 05:45 AM | Re: Royal Mail Prices Oh I do remeber the days of cheques, postal orders and bank transfers. Not had a cheque in years |
Geegee83 | 10-20-2014 07:15 AM | Re: Royal Mail Prices I don't even have a cheque book anymore! |

But yes, loved seeing my post box STUFFED with money orders from the US back when $1 USD was $1.40+ CDN |
YEbayY | 10-31-2014 04:16 PM | Re: Royal Mail Prices If you need to send a letter or small parcel (£2.80) then Royal Mail is the one
Anything above that Couriers are the ones
Companies such as Yodel have by far taken over Royal Mail in the parcel distribution service they are cheap and offer a great service |
eternity4u | 01-17-2015 04:06 PM | Re: Royal Mail Prices These Royal trial prices are ridiculous.
This is good news for those bulky items. You save quite abit.
But i am in a dilemma. One of my items weighs around 110gram. The item is
a small box. If Royal Mail went along with weight, then should cost me only £1.20
But since the new prices i have to pay £2.80. Ridiculous
I send the item with other couriers. My Hermes is charging £2.11
I say some money comparing to Royal Mail.
Royal Mail is good for small items.
Does anyone know about the 2015 price changes? |
