Mainly for the U.S. Residents.

According to everything I read, Mid-October is the BEST time to get your Flu-Shot.

Things are miserable enough with eBay right now, just think how bad they will be dealing with those issues and having the flu.

Lol, TGMT, I already got mine. Now I'm worried about Ebola in the U.S and in my home town of NY..

I personally have never gotten a flu shot, keep hearing mixed reviews about them. I'm actually very curious to know your guys experience with them

Just got mine yesterday! Dont know why though. It seems every year I get the shot I end up with the flu and the years I DONT get the shot I DONT get the flu. Probably just a coincident but whatever.

Normally I get the chills a couple hours after getting the shot but not this year..... maybe that's a good sign?

Does it work? Eh, if your lucky I guess....... I mean the shot can only protect you against ONE strain of the flu but every year there are many different strains that go around so..... They just formulate the shot for the strain they think will be the worst that year. That is what I have heard at least from my bro who is a bio-chem Phd so I trust what he's saying.

There's really no harm to getting it so why not get it?

I have never got a flu when I have had the vaccine in October or November.

Last year I missed getting the shot and had a mild case of the flu.

For the members with the disparaging comments, I think some education may be in order.

Eh.. I might get mine because as TGMT pointed out it's not fun having the flu or worse.

I mean.. one year while I was holding my niece she coughed directly into my mouth.. I could have tossed her across the room right about then but I didn't..

A couple days later I had the flu which turned into pneumonia. Two months of very bad flu symptoms and a round of antibiotics I was good again.

Maybe the flu shot would have prevented that. :)

Flu is viral, not bacterial, so antibiotics would not have done anything, boss. Pneumonia can be caused by both. So it's actually quite possible you picked it up from her.

I got my family vaccinated against pneumonia - unsure if it would be 100% though
here you get a snort up the nose , not a shot....good for kids.

Sadly i react badly and end up very ill.

they always say you cannot get ill from it as the vaccine is dead?
My friend got ill too and does not think it was a coincidence, but they told her it was not related.

Just use high dose vitamin c guys and gals, lots of literature in this. Check out Linus Paulings book. Nobel prize winning chemist. Of course the health industry had tried to tarnish his reputation.

The thread is just a reminder for those who don't really know when the Best time to get one is, if they were in fact going to get one.

FYI: The vaccination take 2 weeks before taking effect after receiving it.

So: everyday you put it off, add 2 more weeks of not being protected.

I got mine on the 24th, so come Nov 7th I'm all good. :p

I wonder if Ill get the flu in florida?

I got extremely sick last year, so miserable! But I am wary of the flu shot as well.

The rule of thumb and the easy way to remember is to get your "Flu Shot" after Halloween and before Thanksgiving for the US.

I kind of forgot this year and didn't get mine till today. It's takes 2 weeks after the shot to provide protection.

Got to avoid sick people until then. :)
