Ha, I opened this thread thinking you were going to put a load of fantastic deals that you have come across, looks like I was wrong.

Lots of shops I buy from have come out with the usual 'extended discount deals' nothing major I have seen.

20% here and there and up to 40% but it's usually clearance goods made to look 'new' as such.

There was one great deal..... Bedding shop was offering king or queen size mattresses for the cost of a single mattress plus free delivery.

Indulged there. Got 3 mattresses for the cost of one. All the beds now have new mattresses.

The only deal that I've gotten recently was signing up for this card:

Chase Freedom Credit Card: Spend $500 in First 3-Months and Earn $200 Cash Back - Chase Deals, Coupons and Promos

I wanted another credit card anyways, and this one seemed good and gives you pretty much $200 for free after spending $500 so hopped on it :D

I'm not sure if it has changed, or if it is different in Australia, but I had a chase credit card about 10 years ago and I closed it after maybe 4 months. The account was not sub-prime or anything, I had excellent credit and this was a normal Chase card. It might as well have been the "Telemarketing Card". I received calls incessantly from Chase telemarketers offering me all kinds of crappy deals, mostly on stuff with super-high profit margins. Life insurance that covered accidental death only. Dismemberment insurance. Credit insurance. Literally, the worst deals imaginable. I asked to be taken off their list. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but the last straw was one of their telemarketers calling me during one of my favorite TV shows tricking me into spending time on the phone with them to discuss "a serious problem" with my account. I thought maybe my information was stolen, or hacked or something. The serious problem turned out to be that my loved ones would have to pay any outstanding balance on my account should I die since I didn't have credit life insurance. And wouldn't I like to fix the problem by agreeing to pay $3 per month per $100 of unpaid charges on my account for their overpriced insurance.

That card went bye-bye REALLY fast!
