In Italy he was quite popular in the early '70.

I remember listening to a few songs of him when I was a child.

Yes I remember him being on Top of the Pops in the 70's, was never aware at the time, or at least can't remember anything about the lifestyle he was living, there was a clip from a documentary that had been made about him that was made in the early 80's, saw it on TV the evening that he died, quite an eye opener, he did have an amazing voice. His story is actually one of the best examples of how TttP's made the career's of people back in those days, never even knew he had such a career after the hit records dried up, if the weren't on Top of the Top's, people in this country really lost track of them, but that all seemed just the way it was back then.

It was even possible back in the 70's for College Student's Union groups to look at 'hiring' the likes of David Bowie, and Elton John, for the latest disco's for ridiculous money!! Crazy days!!

Pa likes country music, ma likes easy listening but they both hate heavy metal. Elder bro likes blues, younger one likes heavy metal and sister likes pop music. But everybody likes Demis Roussos. In the 70s, Demis was giving one hit after another so fast that it was difficult for company to sort out the best ones for compilation on a single LP. I have spent many years in Asia, Europe and US and i used to listen every kind of music 2 to 3 hours almost everyday (Louis Armstrong To Lady Gaga). But whenever i play Demis Roussos it was surprising to see neighbor asking for the name of song or artist just next day. Or just a request to play it once again.

His best one was Forever And Ever but the most catchy one was We Shall Dance. Nobody can resist it..such a deep voice and melody.. Here is the link
