Appolagies if this is in the wrong section.

On many occasions while browsing through ebay i have noticed at the bottom left of my browser it says

thumbs2.ebaystatic.com

Today i opened an email from a website submission company who ive used for submiting my website to search engines with or at the least enquired about it through them. While i was waiting for the email to open which was also a text only email the above mentioned address was showing up on my browser towards the bottom left.

I found this alarming as ive noticed this while on ebay. Also it took about 3 secs for my email to open which was only a text email.

Does anyone know if this address is linked to ebay or is it just some sort of aplet that is required to open certain sites or pages.

i noticed that on Firefox only, i havent seen it with internet explorer. I did a search and it said something about their page loading or something like that .. a lot of computer talk i didnt really understand
