Trump as President- might be bad for us as Importers
 

Ok this might sound pretty abstract but I can't help but not hear D. Trump in all the media these days. I never get too caught up in politics but some of his plans are really concerning me now. One thing he's big on is going against China by raising tariff on imported goods (specifically China).

For the many of us that do business with with people all over China, should we be concerned/prepared?

I care about my country a little more than my ebay business. If I don't have a good country, then what the hell do I care about having an ebay business?

Sure, tax the crap out of imports, the way every other country does. Maybe we can actually start doing some production in America again, and then people will have more money to buy our crap. And if you're buying your products from China, you are selling crap. :D hey, am I more controversial than you yet, GOA?

Trump isn't winning anything. If he does then I'm leaving the country. If 50% of the population wants him as the president I'm officially out.

It wont happen. He can't win. God, aliens, or something in the laws of physics just won't allow it. The really interesting this is how does something with this much energy flame out?

Does is slowly fizzle out or does it blow up? For it to fizzle out it really needs to start soon because the longer this goes on the bigger the blow up has to be.

He is pretty much a dream candidate for Tea Party followers. As Republican candidates start dropping I don't know how many of those followers will join the Trump bandwagon. If he somehow did get the Republican nomination I don't see how he gets much independent support needed to win. In essence Democrats probably are hoping Trump is the candidate

Trump says and does what he wants because he doesn't have all the forced influence of large donators

If we raised the price of China's export shipping cost from 41 cents on small goods shipped to the US to what we pay, $2.01, I'd say our domestic sales on small goods would increase tremendously on places like ebay! Not convinced trump could/would do this, though.

You wonder how so many Chinese sellers can sell something at 99 cents, but it's no mystery once you figure out they can ship it to the USA for 41 cents thanks to USPS selling out domestic sellers. The so-called "e-packet" agreement.

Yep, he's no fat cat's bitch like the rest of the political pussies.

I always am amazed when people say such things as this. Life must be pretty lonely and boring to be able to leave a country over a politician.

No. I think if you read my statement I'm saying if Trump won it not about Trump. It about the country. It not about the politician its about endorsing racism and intolerant behavior. As an American I understand those people are in the world. I like to think that those people are not the majority. Which is why I say NO chance he wins. However if somehow I woke up and Donald Trump was POTUS. That thought would change.

No life isn't lonely and boring. I've traveled the world and have lived in many countries. Have big family in New York and the West Coast. The one thing I learned from traveling is happiness is not an American thing. I can be happy living in a lot of countries and visiting.

Honestly I'm not really getting your point. Maybe I should get it but it is just sad. Showcases that maybe Americans are disconnected to leadership and think whoever runs the show nothing changes. More importantly since they have taken away the draft and USA hasn't had war on its mainland in so long maybe its become a joke. I even heard he getting support just because its funny. I don't believe that just politician line. History doesn't show that. The country would be much different if John Breckinridge had beaten Lincoln. If Hoover beat Roosevelt. If Gore beat Bush. Hitler was just a politician. I guess that is why "other countries" get so focused on the American race for President. We put in the President and they deal with the consequences.
