Google showing 8,100 searches for 'self balancing scooter' in May,40,500 in June and 135,000 in July. Can't see August yet. |
| easy.bake.oven | 09-03-2015 11:54 PM | Re: self balancing scooter I saw some dude yesterday on one on my high road. He looked cool man!!!
I stopped and was looking - I was impressed :)
I wondered what it was, now I know :)
If I did get one, I would want to know about servicing - ie. tyres and battery etc. |

Re: self balancing scooter Looks very cool especially when you first see one in person, thought about buying one but then I feel like I would get bored of it pretty quick & not use it so dont think i would get one not for a while atleast |
Re: self balancing scooter Pretty cool - hmm now for pricing... |
| dbhana121 | 09-04-2015 02:16 AM | Re: self balancing scooter You can get em for £200 |
| RosieTosie | 09-04-2015 04:22 AM | Re: self balancing scooter There are definately easier ways of getting about, electric scooters and the like, certainly interesting Google figures on how many people have been searching for them, they are definitely going to be in the younger age groups. Teen's, 20's, and onwards, after that the idea of broken joints comes to mind!, they are of course for sale on eBay already. |

Quite a few buyers are going and ordering them straight from Alibaba and the Hong Kong sellers, because their listings are showing as the cheapest on eBay, Amazon are dearest if course. There are already tons of listings for them on eBay especially. |

You just created your competition | I can't find a good enough price to sell them as generic and don't have the spare $$$ to start a brand now. Agree they'll be huge though |

Re: self balancing scooter Whatever you do, don't buy the IO hawk. The company is run by enormous, immature d-bags and they're basically just knock offs
Hovertrax is supposed to be the original (they have the patent) |

Hovertrax is supposed to be the original (they have the patent) | Theres so mant people claiming there own are original or have the patent, IOhawk is the only company which have twisted peoples minds and celebrities into thinking there's is original. To be honest, all scooters come from china, china had the idea first. |

| RosieTosie | 09-05-2015 02:48 AM | Re: self balancing scooter And are one's in America running on electric as well, don't seem to be that many of them over here and definately even less of them using the electric instead of petrol. |
| Baffled | 09-05-2015 06:21 AM | Re: self balancing scooter I've had one for a while now, pretty good, no issues, pretty scary, actually not as easy as it looks and i'm a sporty person, but my little bro has complete control in only 1-2 days of riding around, I would not feel comfortable with it going down the shopping centre just yet because I dont have complete control but my bro could easily. |
Re: self balancing scooter Do they even allow it in shopping centres? |
| dbhana121 | 09-05-2015 09:26 AM | Re: self balancing scooter Yah they do, you can whizz around easy, better than walking long distances. |

| RosieTosie | 09-06-2015 08:28 AM | Re: self balancing scooter Was just thinking that rsot, bound to happen if these are allowed to run riot in shopping precincts or pedestrianised areas outside the shops, ordinary bicycles seem to cause enough of that kind of havoc. |
| Proton | 10-24-2015 07:51 AM | Re: self balancing scooter Yes i had experience with them one bough direct from china and one from UK retailer, here my story
well you can get from alibaba like 180 usd but on top will be taxes and vat (if talking about UK) + shipping which adds 130 usd more or 35 usd but quite long ....
We have 4 different models (family is big)
one we bought from china direct on ebay for £199 but it took 2 months to arrive.... and paid around £40 for vat and tax on top ..... and the thing when it comes was something wrong with it. when you step up it goes but when you step out its still working and goes it self!! (very dangerous) i talked with a seller and he said he can replace but need to send back to china ..... and he can only cover shipping cost but not duty tax and vat!! (so again pay double tax?) after long discussion we found resolution that he will give me partial refund and I keep this scooter(at least get back for vat and taxes)
of course we liked this scooter even damaged! so we decide bought more :) this time i google it and looked for local in UK retail online shop (thought they shipping worldwide) as previous experience with china was not that I want again. I found one company EVICED they selling same scooters (visually looks same) but with they own brand EVICED. of course price is a bit more higher for small one, we paid £279 but you get free carry bag (well for us no need it anyway thought) 12th month UK warranty and delivery up to 10 working days (thought we received one in 5 days, another order in 8 days and last one in 3 days) of course all taxes is included. Even they look similar they was a bit different, that from uk was with brand they also was different in battery time! from uk was much longer operation time than from china (thought cannot say exactly but minimum twice longer) Now what main point that they have much more different models than on ebay or amazon. they have small and big one and many model with handle bar like real segway! we have took one x-shape small XB-7 a big one suv-10 and one with a hand bar steering (i think sg-8) now this one is really fun and really possible use like personal transporter to the work and back (if distance up to 10-16 miles) and price £549 but believe me is worth to invest. Btw they repaired my first scooter from china they charge me for pick up fixing and shipping back £49.99 they said was sensor fault (factory defect)
So here my experience that better if you planning to invest to this machines this amount of money you better buy BRANDED one, of course pay more a bit but you will get for what you are paying, as in the end is not small amount and really worth have good service and warranty!
P.S. if you want buy from there i bought, you can find them by google it EVICED they probably wont be in first page but second or third as i remember. or just type they address
good luck hope for someone it makes more clear before ordering |
