Duped eBay buyers due millions in counterfeit product refunds
 

The Counterfeit Report has their favorite target, eBay, in its sights again with claims that the online retailer owes buyers millions in refunds under eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

They say consumers may not even know they’re entitled to these refunds, even when eBay knows the buyers purchased a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ product.

“While each eBay listing clearly proclaims ‘Get the item you ordered or get your money back’– that only happens if the buyer knows they received a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ product and undertakes a time consuming, dysfunctional and arbitrary eBay counterfeit refund process.”

All some jacka$$ buyer has to do is holler f@ke or counterfeit and voila, eBay refunds their money! And they call that time-consuming?

It might be arbitrary (for the seller), but sure as hell isn't for the buyer.

Btw, I actually just got eBay to request proof of counterfeit claims from an idiot buyer who opened a claim.

I seriously hope these buyers get the opening too money back guarantee in a short amount of time treatment, just like those emails I get where eBay says here is how we protected your account.

The funny thing is, that if a product is not covered by Moneyback, they will remove any negs left on about this product.

Counterfeits have been around since LONG BEFORE eBay ever existed. They are sold at just about every flea market, car boot sale, in many stores and other online sites. Even Costco was once found to be selling a counterfeit item (although in their case, I am sure it was unintentional).

This article makes it sound like eBay has mostly counterfeit products which is not true. But the most disturbing thing is they feel it should be stopped at all costs. And the only way to do that would be to allow only big corporations to sell. And I PRAY that never happens, because if only corporations are allowed to sell, then the rest of us will end up working for $8 an hour.

Yes I have noticed that , eBay are letting the bigger sellers sell counterfeit.

So far in my category (software), they have been selling counterfeits as new and also frequently in the wholesale lots category, which apparently doesn't get the scrutiny or category limits in place everywhere else.

To be honest I am seeing this as well with products I sell. Individuals with crazy low feedback are sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ goods. Some of them now have been on for a few weeks with two or three negative feedback's claiming shipping from china super ⊗⊗⊗⊗. I am quite surprised.

Honestly, it tells me eBay is looking for revenue since the split up. That is the only thing that makes sense.

They're obviously happy to allow a certain amount of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items, wouldn't be hard for them to pay a few people £500 a month from some 3rd world country and remove loads of it. Most of the big brands are dominated by ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Urban decay,mac, ysl,younique,ralph lauren,hugo boss,dre beats,cards against humanity etc etc most accounts can easily bank a few k profit before getting banned. Plenty of accounts with 5-10k feedback selling a lot of it, must of made 100,000+ profit easily
