this is exactly what i was thinking man..

its so annoying working for like a machinery company writing guides (my job) and driving a car with a shaky steering wheel 5 days a week and some day i would like to make enough money of ebay to start my own business

thats what really drives me

I'm not, but even if I was, I definitely wouldn't brag about it anywhere public, including "anonymous" forums....

Not just that, but you can bet your balls that the IRS keeps track of claims made regarding financials. You may think you're "stealth" but you can't hide from the government. The LAST thing I want is to increase my chances of an audit by even .00001%. I had an uncle who was self-employed and audited (fully legitimate) and it took him 6 months to get through the ordeal.

Bottom line: You don't want to bring attention to yourself if you're part of the 1%. Nothing good can come of it. If you're a baller, take it to the club. Keep it off the internet.

Just my 2 cents.

hehe alot of us here in UK are millionaires, due to our high house prices......

I am a worrier and I do find selling stressful. stealth has one set of stresses, but actually customers having all your real details is just as undesireable for other reasons....

I have worked part-time on different projects outside of ebay just to add to my interests and lifeskills, and a bit of glamour believe it or not, us girls like to put on a pair of heels once in a while, theyve worked out positive but I would hate to work in the same job full-time now, hate it.......and whilst selling online is hard work, it is flexible and you can do other things in your day too........

The only reason I am still working at my job is for the health care benefits. If it wasn't for this, it would be ebay full time!

I recommend you if your bored of ebay try and save money up and get out of it and do something else. Stop wanting to be rich like everybody and just make money anyway you can and save up and invest in something for yourself. I can understand alot of rich powerful people it gets very boring when you got so much money and done almost everything money can buy the easy way. Nobody can tell you what to do. Search within yourself. Read some books about the purpose of life not just sex and money like people say. Find what fufills you inside. Don't be a sheep following people, do yourself. Hell you might even end up in a different country making money in real life or online whatever it is. Create an invention and invent it and see if it sells.

Well said, Astralman....

Personally, I find it hard to lose motivation with so much going on. However, when I feel down I find YouTube motivation videos great, just go there and type "motivation video" or something similar.

The Rocky video in particular captures my imagination!

On second thought... I'm going to watch it right now...

Sounds like your in the wrong business if you can't stay motivated. That was my whole reason for going self employed, there was no motivation to work my arse off for someone else. (Especially when they were idiots, and I'm not even joking)

For me, all my products is things I've made. So when I see a sale I get great joy out of knowing someone likes my work. Even more joy when I see its a returning customer, or I see something I've made when I go out into the real world.

Plus I have fun sitting around my friends and hearing my phone go "Chaching!" whenever I make a sale. Make's the deadness in their eyes look even more lifeless as I get paid while playing video games.

Oh yeah, bills and debt are a great motivator.

Unfortunately I'm still working my ass off for someone else bc I need the health benefits. I don't think I can support a family of 4 and pay benefits out of pocket with eBay profits. eBay is too unpredictable month to month. Especially when you have items that were selling off the shelf last month and all of a sudden I can't sell one to save my life this month. Not to mention buyers who buy your item then a week later want to return a $300 item. Makes absolutely no sense.

I can understand that with you being in America, health benefits are not something we even need to consider with employment here.

It might be worth you looking into the six figure boss, with the right idea or ideas you can make it worth going self employed

It's like anything that was once fun and just a hobby of yours.. once you start making it your job.. it will start bothering you more and more until you strongly dislike it.

The solution is to take yourself out of the picture as much as possible.. instead of having a job, try to automate things instead (as much as possible.)

Automation will help give you more free time to do more productive or fun activities.

What you can't automate, try to outsource.

What you can't automate or outsource.. eliminate.

You want to focus on building a machine that runs the business..

At least that's how I try to do things.
