This is always an issue on eBay. Monkey see, monkey do. They see you making money and they want some for themselves. Many people watch other sellers who are successful to see what they are selling and then copy them. Unfortunately, there is no way that you can sell in secret. Adding this person to your blocked bidder list will not prevent him from copying you.
There is a way to make stealth work to your advantage here. Set up a few stealth accounts. Divide your listings between the accounts. That will not prevent ALL of the copycats, but it will definitely cut down on it. I noticed a long time ago that certain people seemed to be listing what I was selling a week or so after I first placed a listing. They would watch me to see what I had listed and then sourced the items so they could sell them too. Some of them even copied the majority of my listings. Listing over several accounts cuts down on that. Again, there is no way to totally prevent it from happening. That is just the marketplace, it is competition. |
