Shipping internationally, paying domestic by partnering
This idea I had when I was falling asleep last night (as the best ideas sometimes come)... I was thinking about how when selling things on eBay and it costs extra to ship things to Canada, what if you could offer same shipping to Canada as within the states....
Not an offer to pair up with anybody, just wondered if anyone here has or has had a similar sort of arrangment, and how it's worked out?
So if an eBay seller who lived in the US could partner up with an eBay seller in Canada and fulfill each other's items... Each month send each other a shipment, and then send out to customers at the domestic rate... Plus get items there quicker, so happier customers. It'd only work for two sellers who trusted each other.
Or they even sell the exact same items, I fulfill yours, you fulfill mine, etc. If an inbalance started to exist over time, one may have to pay the other to balance it out, but ideally if you have similar volumes & seller who trusted each other, it could work and save both money (and make them money).
And this would only work if you sold multiples of same items, etc. had inventory of recurring items, obviously not going to work for people who source one-off things at yard sales and such....
Or even just one eBay seller doing this with a non-seller in Canada or vice versa, just an arrangemnet, he sends 100 items to a guy in the other country, for a cut, he fulfills them domestically and can offer same shipping charge to Canada and in the states... or pockets the difference by still charging same for the shipping yet able to fulfill domestically.
Anybody ever try or do anything like this?
