| | | philly387 | 01-24-2009 05:10 PM | Internet Explorer 8 Beta So a few days ago I decided on downloading Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2...
Worst mistake I think I have ever made lol...
It seems very buggy and crashed on me all the time. Also in the address bar drop down menu...you can only see the last 10 sites you typed in I believe...10 at the most it might be less than that can't remember.
Anyone else tried the beta?
Also...Bad Boys 2 is on right now on USA!!! (The channel) lol...for all of the people that actually have some free time to turn the TV on :) |

BETA? Yes I'm suffering with it everyday since the 21st on Ebay!
Bad Boys 2 ...Wouldn't you rather see the Movie unedited for TV and without commercials? Demonoid.com - Bad Boys II (2003) [DVDRip][1337x][Wolphie] |

| aspkin | 01-25-2009 12:01 AM | I've just about giving up on Microsoft products. :(
Most likely my next computer will be a Mac. |
| John14789 | 01-25-2009 12:27 AM | Oh yes the oh so wonderful IE beta 8. I still have that crap on my computer I've been surfing with it for more than 6 months now. I never get a chance to uninstall it. Thanks for reminding me I'll uninstall it today when I get home. I don't know if I can get used to mac since I've been using microsoft ever since I've known about computers. |

Anyways, I think IE8 Beta was the worst download of my life! I uninstalled it after 2 days of testing it out... |

But I'm on my computer now and will be uninstalling IE8. MAC looks cool and all but I don't think I can get used to it. I mean atleast not as a work computer. Now I just don't like some aspects of firefox.
EDIT
I just got done unistalling IE8 and got my good 'old IE7 back on! |

| John14789 | 01-26-2009 01:09 AM | My backup browser is good 'ole safari. |
| GreenBean | 01-26-2009 03:03 AM | Firefox & MAC do OK for me. In Firefox I have a IE7 toggle-woggle button.:) I used carrier pigeon when I first started to use t'internet.:p Big improvement. |
| therrol | 01-26-2009 03:09 PM | why do you guys use pre-release software and expect it NOT to be buggy?
if IE8 was a solid, stable product MS would just release it! none of this beta crap. |
| philly387 | 01-26-2009 05:33 PM | Why not try out the new stuff and see what its like? I figured it would be a bit buggy but not crash all the time. I don't like the new setup either. |
| aspkin | 01-26-2009 05:47 PM | I used Opera for about a year because my POS desktop didn't like firefox. It's solid, but a little slow.
But now with my new laptop, firefox is my best friend.
I do agree it's good to have backup browsers, I still use IE and Opera when I need them. |
| philly387 | 01-26-2009 06:04 PM | What would you need a backup browser for? |
| aspkin | 01-26-2009 06:12 PM | Emm, well some things firefox can't do, Opera and IE sometimes will be able to do.
Like firefox does a good job of savings websites that I need for web work.
Opera does a good job of holding copied text in it's tables for Excel.
IE I usually use for testing things. If it doesn't work in IE, which most of the world still uses, I need to fix it.
I build websites, so I have to cater to all web users and their browsers. |
| philly387 | 01-26-2009 06:14 PM | Ah hah...Now I understand. So it's more for people that work with websites more and need more tools? |

| aspkin | 01-26-2009 06:25 PM | Well, it's better to use different user accounts for different eBay/PayPal accounts.
If you use one browser for one ebay account and another browser for another, things could get mixed and and before long you're linked.
What are you now GreenBean, a phoenix? :) http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_h9jM93aGqf...rk_phoenix.jpg |
| John14789 | 01-26-2009 06:26 PM | Greenbean you should get that chick avatar back. This one ain't that cool.
I love IE! I don't really like firefox because it's kinda complicated. |

What would you need a backup browser for? | One of the worst mistakes you can do on a computer is not have a back-up browser.
Suppose a file on your hard-drive that makes your browser work gets infected or unreadable. What are you going to do? You won't be able to access the internet to re-download it or another browser. You would basically be stuck.
It would be real easy to click another icon (Opera) on your desktop to get you up and running again.
Also last month IE7 had a Security Warning and was recommended not to use it until they fixed the issue. They had it fixed the next day, but having another browser on your computer made it easy to use something else while they fixed the problem. MS issues brown alert over unpatched IE 7 flaw • The Register |
| aspkin | 01-26-2009 06:32 PM | Right, I hate when I'm working one someone's computer and all they have is slow ass IE.
Then I have to wait 10 minutes for it to load a page, try and download Firefox just to get other things I need to fix their computer.
Multiple browsers all the way. |
| GreenBean | 01-26-2009 06:33 PM | That was a test avatar.:p I like it heaps. Yep, that is a phoenix.
TGMA is correct. You have to be able to 'control' what you do when dealing with ebay. |
