New International Shipping Label Shows Phone Numbers

I printed several international shipping labels Saturday before the increase and noticed something new on the shipping labels ~ the phone number for the shipper and receiver being printed on the label. I use Auctiva to obtain shipping addresses for my buyers and stamps.com to print my postage (cut and past addresses from Auctive to stamps.com). Stamps.com has required a phone number to be input in their form for quite some time and I've always input my phone number because the number didn't print on the label. I can obtain the buyer's phone number via eB which is inconvenient because I want to be able to print shipping labels without being logged into eB. The other way is via Shipsaver as they have the buyer's phone number in their records. Both are really inconvenient and time-consuming. Because I use my stamps.com account for all of my **** accounts, the phone number on my stamps.com account is my real, non-**** phone number.

What are others doing about including phone numbers on international shipping labels?

Stamps.com has required a phone number for the receiver and the sender of international (USPS) shipments for the entire time I've used their service. I've always just put my phone number in both fields, and I've never had any issues. It would take me like 2 hours extra every day if I went and looked up every international buyer's phone number.

As I stated in my original post, I also input my phone number before the recent changes. Now when an international label is printed both phone numbers will be printed on the label where before neither phone number was printed directly on the label (see yellow highlighted area on the label in my original post). I really don't want my real phone number on the label for anyone who handles the package to see.

Oh that's strange. Your international label actually looks a little different than mine. But I'm assuming that's because you print on labels, not paper? For me both phone numbers have always been printed on the label. You could always put a made up number or buy a prepaid phone to use just for your labels. Nobody ever calls the number, in my experience.

Endicia always had the number printed on the labels.
Glad stamps took the same action. Saves my buyers a lot of aggravation and me too in the long run. Most of my international sales are big 40"x20"x6" boxes and not left in a box etc...

IF you dont want buyers calling you, put an alternative or ⊗⊗⊗⊗ number.

I hate when buyers call and ask questions from the number on the labels.

I print on paper because I also print a receipt for my records. I guess I'll get a GV number and use that number. As for the buyer's phone number, I guess I'll just enter 1234567890 as I don't have time to look up every number and copy/paste it to stamps.com. If that doesn't work, I'll have to come up with a Plan B or use my GV number for both numbers.

Putting the same phone number in both fields will not cause any problems. That's what I've always done.

You can also edit your ebay settings to require a phone number at checkout. Some with give a 111-111-1111 number but most wont.

Great for future marketing as well.
