The problem with the USPS is, it is too easy to bash them. There have been jokes going around for years about the postal service. But if you look at the volume they do and the percentage of mail that TRULY gets lost (your claim that the check must have been lost in the mail does not count, since that is a work of fiction) they really do an Amazing job as a whole. Sure, you can point to some problem post offices, or a carrier that throws the mail away or whatever. But they are the cheapest way to send moist packages, the vast majority are delivered as expected and they provide actual living wage jobs, which is a rarity these days. |
