Funny how you said that, because it seems to apply to me and my dislike of crowds. I prefer to go somewhere special the day before or after.

Same for me, on the 14th we stay absolutely at home.

For any restaurant, or place where you can dinner, you have to book way in advance, you will be charged double and it will be crowded like there is no tomorrow...

Really not my idea of a romantic evening.

I have ordered bunch of roses for her and I'll act like I got her nothing- Just to see her flip out and get all huffy-puffy with me with the "Its ONE day a year... I just wanted something small and special" and then the delivery guy knocks on the door and BOOM, she'll have a slice of humble pie and its all good.

Got to break her down and then build her back up again, then the highs are really high.

Also, lets all agree that going out on the 14th is the WORST thing you can do. Do it 2 days earlier, or two days later- Talk to your other halves and agree to that and act like normal people.

Nobody wants to go out to a fancy place and be surrounded by 16 year old who wanted to surprise somebody or couples who never talk to eachother but once a year try to make an effort.

Go and be normal people, share the love every day of the year and treat eachother like you were the other person. Give everything and don't ask for nothing, just do it because that other person will have the best ride of her life- If you can change someone elses life on this planet for those brief years that we have here, its the best possible thing you can do.

Over here in the UK more often than not on Feb 14th it's set menus all the way, and they are awful!, so it's no go for the meal out night, learned from experience on that one.

Oh I got her this year, the ****er(with all due respect, love and care). I pokerfaced her well and truly for the whole evening on the 13th.
I could sense that she was bummed out already, knowing that I did nothing(Like we agreed) and as she got ready for bed I told her I need to do a bit of work downstairs- I got some shipping labels printed earlier and a small box of stock "to pack" so she thought it was another normal night.

Little did she know that I cleaned the house, baked cinnamon buns, got her flowers and cards ready and then woke up at 7 to make her coffee and had couple of hours before our little one got up.

All she said was "Oh wow, I'm impressed" and I she knew that for once, she is the one who goofed up- I did more than she did for me, so she felt a bit bad because of it.... WELCOME TO MY WORLD.

All love and hugs, but I quite enjoy the tiny bit of torture it caused her. Love her loads.

Where is it that you go.. I havent seen any set menu' s except at xmas time.
