Who has the Dell XPS 13 or 15?
 

I want to get the Dell xps, either 13 or 15. Leaning towards the 15 because its more powerful and I can just bring a mobile battery to make it last longer. I want the 16GB and 1TB one.


Anyone has one? Do you like it? Is it as good as the hype? Also should I wait for the next model? How often do the release a new model?


Also, is refurbished worth it? Any laptop or computer sellers on here? refurbished or new, hmmm..... Seems like refurbished would run into less problems since it is manually checked by Dell, but do they sell ones that are dented or have cosmetic problems when selling refurbished?

I'm an asus fanboy myself... but what exactly is your goal and needs with a high-end laptop?

If this is for a VMware setup, you're probably better off to setup some type of remote access to the VMs running on your desktop, and access them from your laptop.

My friend has a XPS 15, and honestly It's gorgeous. I'm planning to get it as my next replacement sometime soon.

Also, why is this posted in eBay discussion? Is this related to stealth at all?

I would avoid Dell computers like the plague for stealth accounts. My friends, coworkers and myself have all had hard drive problems with dell computers.

Nothing would be worse then having your files of accounts lost along with all the user profiles and cookies.

I'm seeing a lot of reviews with software issues. I can't find a better windows laptop than a dell xps atm. What would you recommend?

I like high end.

I'd try vmware on a vps but its just don't work or don't work well.

I just want something fancy.

I use a clevo w230ss for a business laptop, much faster than anything Dell has in the 13inch size.

You don't need a supercomputer to use vmware, and I definitely wouldn't recommend the remote server-based vmware setup - that would just add layers of unnecessary complexity. But since you have already decided to blow some of your profits on a new top-of-the-line laptop, get a mac. It doesn't have to be the newest $2500 macbook pro. My last macbook had 4g of RAM and ran VM's smoother than any PC I've ever worked with.

Once again I agree with speeder. I've had 3 or 4 dell computers crash in the past for various reasons, so now I will not go near them. If you don't want to get a mac that's fine, just don't get a dell. A standard out-of-the-box toshiba laptop from walmart would be a better choice, IMO..

I understand why people dislikes Dell, and quite frankly I do agree with you guys from a traditional point of view. Their Ultrabooks like the XPS 13 and 15 is a whole new story though. They're quite amazing and really well built.

Yeah. Ive been worried about it crashes. Im Reading the reviews and almost half of them are due to software issues. But that's a sexy laptop.

I dont like apple because its not user friendly and a lot of softwares dont support it. Im about to go to the windows store and test these bad boys out tonight.

Hmmm.... You are right i prob dont need all that spec but why not go all the way when im already spending this much.

Im going for refurbished because Dell fixes them so i shouldnt have to worry and they seem to grant warranties

Very disappointed. The Dell xps 13 is 83837 times sexier than that thing.

We all have different needs when it comes to laptops.

My need was a light gaming laptop and business laptop light enough to be carried and 4 hours of battery, I get 5.25 hours of battery life.

I can still have Fallout 4 at full details at 1080 with a 4.2lb laptop with the 860m graphics card, 13.3inch screen. No other 13.3inch laptop can say that.

It might not be sexy but I wasnt looking for sexiness, my girlfriend already fills that department.

For pc, Lenovo all the way for me, I'm a Lenovo fanboy myself. Well made, sturdy etc. had one from 2006 and still runs. But I'm more of a Mac guy, pc tho, Lenovo all the way.

Dell XPS 15 is heavier than I expected. It's nice and I like the wringes better than the xps 13 because its stronger but its bigger than I would had like it.

Any seller on here wants to sell it to me for a discount? Waiting for this specific seller to get them in stock.

I was going to get a lenovo but the reviews for them are so bad. Always software issues. Same for the Dell though lol.

When they say software issue, do they mean by Windows 10? Because windows 10 is ****.

Give me a nice 14 inch laptop with a Nvidia 970m and 4 hours of laptop life and I am in heaven, sell it for under 1600 and you have my money right now.

Lenovo gaming laptop, y700, 980m 4gb video ram, 6th generation 6700q Intel i7 chip, 16gb ram, 4-7 hours of battery life, for about 1349, makes me salivate.

Some others to consider, Asus republic of gamers, Msi, acer, etc.
