Thinking of getting into trading and stocks

Hi I have always wanted to get involved with trading and buying and selling stocks but I don't know where to start. Never done this before in my life and was looking for a way to get into this.

I was thinking of going for long term stocks and seeing the money go up gradually but I don't know how or where to start

So any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Can also read up on Ameritrade TD as a stock platform to deal with.

Start to going to Investopedia. Also trading is short term (seconds, minutes, hours, days or months, investing is long term (over a year).

Instead of singlehandedly asking questions, go to the website I told you about.

to answer your question, no you hold that stock and it has devalued at that point, you do not pay it back in that sense.....and for every loss there is winner somewhere else in the market, that is how people make money.... the ones with that know what to look for...plus a loss is not the end of the world, you just need to win more than you lose, and use gearing............

Alright thank you for that!
Is there a stock platform that is based in the UK that i can use?
As the one suggested above is for US I think.
And what does someone think about the trading app called "trading 212?" Is thy any good and is there a lot of charge for doing trades

Also I was wondering can I buy stocks that are cheap like £5 and £10?
As right now I want to start of small

Thanks

Why not download the app and test it out for yourself?

If you want to make a quick few quid, do some matched betting online with all the bookie sites - you should walk away with at least £2000 for not doing much.

There are some great risk-free offers, guaranteed profit :)

Re: Thinking of getting into trading and stocks

Stock and forex trading requires a lot of funds to be invested to generate a considerable profit, and these funds should be something you can afford to loose. And yes, you will loose them, under 5% of all traders are successful over the time, and the remaining 95% loose everything they've invested.

I was actually trolling lol,

I never have purchase any stocks and never will because I don't have the time to learn about it. Firstly invest in your education and don't waste your time in forums like this if you don't have the basic understanding of what you want to get into.

Information is the new money, go get some.

Re: Thinking of getting into trading and stocks

I had a thread about eToro long time ago, i'm still trading forex and in the last 6 month it was really profitable for me, you can actually see on their website how "Klemantina" made more than 50% return in the last couple of month, you can send me a message there if you need help or you can just analyze what I do. If you need advice regarding the best broker, I used lots of them and the best one I found is probably Pepperstone.

Re: Thinking of getting into trading and stocks

Is anyone involved with this?

https://propertypartner.co

It's where you can buy shares of properties as anyone started this or knows quite a lot about it to give me some information on it and if it's worth doing?

I didn't try the website but I will share my 2 cents about properties. Don't invest in anything with less than 10% annual yield. Analyze a lot of option before investing.

Re: Thinking of getting into trading and stocks

Really only 3 things have made e money this year and they are mostly just to hedge against the market condition.

Real Estate - Rental Property
Gold - More then 100% return in last year for me
Bonds - Very low 2% at best

I do believe there are some good value stocks available at a discount at the moment as the market has made a correction. Although its been so volatile lately because of oil that I dare not go short. Only thinking long tem 5+ Years on equties

Forget trading stocks, if you are young, start investing in DRIPS 20-30years from now, you got so many shares that are earning you yearly income.

Re: Thinking of getting into trading and stocks

To be honest most people who invest in stocks lose their behinds the first time around. It takes time to learn how and what to invest in. Not to mention the 6-10 year cycles that are present in various sectors, etc. When I started investing in 2009 I was a complete idiot. I was up then down then up then way down. In the past two years I can say I have paid the tuition and understand with good confidence the sectors I choose and stocks I invest in.
