Phone number for website

I need a phone number for my website, I'm not going to answer the calls. I just need it to be there so it look more serious.

But when someone call I just want it to keep ringing.

What's the best option for me ?

It doesn't look more serious to me, a phone number where nobody answers...

If you really want to go that way get yourself a SIM or trackphone and don't use it... what a weird idea.

Why is it weird ? A website with phone number looks more serious.

Aren't there something online ? I'm not in USA and not able to get a tracfone.

You'd better change the flag of your country to reflect where you are operating from.

put your phone number, and don't answer

Re: Phone number for website

It may look more serious but if you don't answer it makes you far less professional and it could end up having the reverse effect to what you are trying.

I am sure there must be some 'virtual' options in the States where your calls get answered and you can pick them up later.

Re: Phone number for website

Phone number only looks serious if you are literally from Asia and are trying to build a website that looks legit.

If you REALLY want to make a difference its the customer support side that you need to focus on- You need to either have a live chat that you actually respond to, in GOOD english or you want a customer service email/phone number/chat system where you have somebody dealing with problems LIVE.

The phone number alone... cmon son, its not 1998.

Use a cheap mobile phone that has 30 days standby.

Leave it on standby.

Or do you need a landline?

US and A has a ton of services where you can have a phoneline that literally creates one of those "awesome" customer service experiences. You can have different options, different messages and even transcripts sent to your email.
Get one of those and let it forward it to you in Thailand or where ever the **** you run this ****show.

That would work, but I'm not in USA and therefore not able to buy a US mobile phone and leave it on standby.

Re: Phone number for website

Plenty of options out there.
Several apps will give you a US phone number.
And there are several pay services as well if you prefer that will forward the call to any phone number you wish including your own - but you say you dont plan on answering calls anyway so its not necessary.
By the way - if youre not going to answer calls at least make sure you have a decent voicemail message letting people know WHY youre not taking the calls. Its unprofessional not to answer calls but even more so if the message greeting them is a generic one.

So pay for a service you ain't going to use.... thats good business sense?

Sounds like there could be a bit of a scam going on here.... wanting to 'look more serious but not operate a 'serious' business.

Fishy.

Re: Phone number for website

LOL, That's exactly what makes me say a website is serious.....dialing a number that just rings and rings :thumb:. Also, change your flag to your real Country, it's annoying having to guess where your really from.

Thanks for answer.

Do you know a good place where to buy ?

rsot 02-20-2016 10:34 AM

Re: Phone number for website

Quite a few websites - just google 1-800 number and look for good rates - they change regularly.

I can sell you a tracfone already registered with USA phone number. Just an option.

Since you plan on ignoring all of your customers anyway, this would be a lot cheaper than subscribing to a 1-800 number or a "customer service hotline service".

Re: Phone number for website

About $10 a month I can get you a number with voicemail or forward to a number you want.... With area code of the city of the address.

How much would that cost ?

Will it be ringing when the clients call ? Or will it sound it's closed ?
