Activity: 0% Longevity: 94% | | We are making paypal worse
Ive thought about this before. We bust our asses to get around paypals authoritative rules only to make them more powerful and influential and thus allow them to create more authoritative rules.
Paypal talked about adding 7 million new users in the fourth quarter. We had a little laugh wondering how many of those were stealth but when it comes to business investors dont care. They see 7 million new users. Paypal makes more money, their stock goes up and they can continue to buy every payment processor that threatens it.
They hold our money and theres nothing we can do because its stealth which allows them to keep holding it. Now they have the ability to claim our money as their own. Once again they look like a juggernaut they get more money thrown at them and they get to continue holding money.
Its just one of those situations that sucks when you start to think about it. Stealth is a lifeline to us but also allows paypal to continue to inflate its revenue. I wouldnt be surprised if "stealth accounts" were part of paypals market plan at this point. I hope the irony isnt lost on anyone.

Well not too many other options for us stealthers at this point.
And I dont agree with your last statement. As opposed to what many might think I dont think stealth makes up a significant percentage of the paypal/ebay business at all. We're a tiny fraction who really dont make any difference this way or the other to them.

Yeah there arent any other options haha. Thats what makes it so annoying. I would definitely disagree about stealth. I mean im not saying we make up 50% of their revenue or anything but we have people on this site that are running hundreds of accounts at once. Thats quite a bit a cash. We also have multiple people who have huge businesses that were stopped and they had to move to stealth. I think its much more than you think and its more of "free money" for them because they know we cant fight them.

I doubt they take us into consideration when making their business plans.

Tiny fraction maybe at this time, but growing faster like a weed on fertilizer. I understand the OP's view and in a way he is right. There's a way to avoid being limited early. We have no options left because Paypal decided to part with us.

It's how it goes.
I imagine it as the wild west.. where once there were very few rules and lawlessness. Now, as time passes, we'll get more and more rules until their is a revolt.
Either the competition will overtake PayPal and PayPal will die OR PayPal will change and make things easier... probably the latter.
PayPal is in a good position however.. they have total market domination so I don't see anything changing anytime soon.

I dont think they give a ****. I dont think ebay gives a **** if ppl sell vero. I think they have ppl from businesses that get counterfeited that bitch and say "SUE" and that makes ebay and paypal look like they are being proactive. Bottom line, they are a whore to the dollar just like anyone else.

Their rules will only keep getting more strict as cyber fraud keeps climbing - and it is. All the time.

ebay/paypal are fully responsible for ruing themselves. they could be more secure but they are not willing. then paypal arbitrarily withholds peoples money with no explanation and ebay favors buyers 99% of the time.
its no one elses fault besides ebay/paypal/john ****-a-hoe

why cant goverments take action so we can choose which payment provider we want.
I heard australia challenged them and they are not obligated or joined at hip to accept paypal for selling on ebay.

I like paypal the way it is. I am pro paypal until the day I dont sell on ebay anymore. A few more years and I will be out of the ebay/paypal game.
TL/DR--I am pro paypal.
