When I went to the website, I was reading that you can fund it with bank account, other venmo user payments as well but I don't see the option to use cc or gift cards...

Such a simple idea and so much profit!
"In 2012, Braintree acquired Venmo for $26.2 million. In 2013, PayPal acquired Braintree for $800 million.[10] PayPal announced in October 2015 that it plans to let merchants accept payments through Venmo."

I noticed that Venmo has limits of $299 per week unless you give them a social security number. As they are a part of PayPal, I wonder if Venmo has a list of people who have been terminated from PayPal?

I love Aspkin's idea. The house next to mine went up for sale a few years ago. I was interested in buying it. The seller wanted to do it on a land contract, which I typically do not like. But there were quite a few benefits to me in picking up the property so I went ahead with it. But paying the seller was a pain in the &^%! She did not want checks, only money orders or cash. I asked her if she would take PayPal and I offered to pay the fees. She refused because she had issues with PayPal. In 7 months, this will no longer matter, because I will have paid the contract in full. But there is always a next time.

Not to mention we need a way of paying people WORLDWIDE! My bank has decided, for example, that I cannot use my credit cards to pay anyone outside the US. Not just me, but all bank customers. But why? It is ridiculous that the government and big business want to protect us from ourselves to the point that it ties our hands. Why can't I pay someone in China or Russia, or India or the UK as easily as I can pay someone in the US? Why does that transaction have to be subject to heavy scrutiny? Even Western Union sucks! It used to be good, but now they want to know what you are paying for, if you know the person, how long you have known the person, what is the last time you saw the person "in person" and a million other things. And PLEASE don't give me that nonsense about funding terrorism! As if the terrorists do not have all kinds of ways of moving money without the government knowing about it? All it does is ties the hands of the little people. I very much doubt that terrorists are having a problem getting funds. Only the little people have a problem exchanging funds. This is about keeping big businesses in control of the supply chains. They are TERRIFIED that someone might be able to buy something from someone in China and bypass them and their ridiculous markups!

OK... rant over... I just think they should be making it EASIER for people to exchange money for goods and services, not harder.

She is just an odd duck... Her sister lived in the house and had to go into a nursing home. It might have had something to do with that, I have no idea. The benefits to me were just too good to pass up.

I am going to try it and I will let everyone know the outcome. It really is not a risk to me, because if they are going to close the account it should happen quickly.

Any update?

I have two new stealths (one or two months since first sale).

I have a client that wants to pay me $500+, and wants to use Venmo.
On this phone I've checked emails from now suspended Eby/PP accounts.

Receiving $500+ on either PP acct will be the largest amount by far, so far. I want to keep these PP accounts safe.
