Paying with money order/check cons/pros?
 

I need to pay by mail something because credit card is not working. This company says it takes 21 days to process a check for them to clear. Why is that?

If I pay with a money order and then there is an issue are there any way of putting a claim or only with the police?

Is this for a supplier? A supplier that you trust?

I suppose the company wants to make sure the check is legit before they send off whatever you're ordering.

You can cancel a money order/check but to recover after it's deposited.. not that I'm aware of.. unless money order has insurance or your bank covers you.

Pay with a postal money order

Its like cash and can be traced back to who cashed it and possible fraud activity.

Well it's a company that's been long in business here in the usa. It's not for re-selling anything. Thanks everybody and for the person who told me about usps. I will buy from usps, thanks.

Both checks and money orders can be traced - USPS money order works well but always a matter of trust with the supplier...

USPS money orders are convenient to use.

Make sure to retain your receipts.
