13-year-old boy is father to newborn girl..

JohnnyBoy 02-14-2009 09:48 PM

I just read about that. That is crazy. I'm 21 and still dont have kids, thank god. lol. I don't see how he is going to provide for her. In America, the state would take that kid. I hope the father or mother has good parents that can take care of her.

Young Alfie is a bright spark! He does not even understand what the word 'financially' means. TBH, the girl is worrisome too as well as the whole family. In one of the UK papers it said Alfie's sister had a baby at the same age.Seems brains are missing. In five years time, young Alfie could be finishing a day at
school and going to pre-school to pick-up his kid.:FF:

Where im from, (poorer areas of New York), unfortunately things like this arent too uncommon .. in this case i applaud the fact that the father and his family, despite his age and ignorance, are actually getting involved.....

its sad .. but it is life

GreenBean 02-14-2009 11:26 PM

yaw, I do agree. Here age is against the couple AND an innocent child. That is sad. It seems the 15 year 'missed' taking the pill.

GreenBean 02-15-2009 08:11 AM

Gets better. What hope does the baby have?

Yeah scary, I have a 12 yr old son, and I had him when I was 18. Just this friday he came home from a school dance and told me he got into trouble because he was "making out" with a girl on the steps. He almost gave me a heart attack. Never mind all the girls that call the house and his phone.
My friends say I should be glad he is so open with me. But the kid tells me everything. I am his mother, He shouldn't want to tell Me everything.
It is hard to raise teenagers. You can't be with them every second so when you are with them you have to teach them right from wrong.
Ok I am done venting now. Hard weekend.

Yes, saw this, to all you Americans, we have trailer trash too, yee-haw.
Huge welfare culture over here, government too soft.
There are more potential fathers coming out to claim paternity now, there see some money from the newspapers.
She looks like she picked him up and dragged him to her cave, poor boy looks like a frightened rabbit!
As we say in the UK, that girl will be buried in a Y shaped coffin.

imthatguy 02-18-2009 07:19 PM

I dont see the big deal about this. I had my daughter when i was 13.

M y girlfriend Mom had her when she was 13 as well

Jonas 02-18-2009 10:02 PM

imthatguy, well according to the laws, it's technically statutory rape even if both people are underage. Also a lot of times 15-16 year olds send topless pics of themselves to their boyfriend/girlfriends and go to jail for that.

The British trailer trash are commonly called chavs.

I also read one news article saying the 13 year old who looks like he's 8 might not be the actual father as no paternity test was done.

GreenBean 02-18-2009 10:32 PM

No paternity test done yet. One lad is anxious to find out if he is the father. The other lad is terrified he might be.

divine422 02-19-2009 03:20 PM

Wow...shes definitely got around...

Are you serious? You think thats normal

Jonas 02-20-2009 01:38 AM

Also, there's stuff like people under 18 aren't legally able to sign contracts -- there's some law like that in the USA. The USA's laws consider people to be a "child" until they're 18 even if they had 10 kids by then.

siashay 02-20-2009 09:47 AM

i don't know what is worse, the 13yrs old having baby's or the chick on tv that just had the 8 baby's and 6 more at home. God bless that women. I don't know how he will do it.

wookster 02-24-2009 11:29 AM

I heard about this the other day, crazy.....

I was 15 when I had my now 13yr old son! No regrets, and raised him 100% on my own without my parents and have done a tremendous job. He is now an excellent teen with his head on straight and turned in the right direction. He is looking for a job and making plans to save $200 a month till he is 18 for a down payment on a house. *i'm a proud momma* It can be done. These two look so, so young and immature but I am sure I did too at 15.

Jonas..... Laws in Canada must be very different from the States. Here when you have babies you are somewhat emancipated.

Ha ha ha. 13 is plenty old enough. Dont be so old fashioned!!

GreenBean 02-24-2009 09:18 PM

^^^Sure 13 is plenty old enough to father the child. And that is all Alfie can do at that age. He has no employment, no house for the child, nada. Since my taxes go to their welfare, what is old fashioned about thinking this is a sad case?

boondoggle 02-24-2009 09:43 PM

Alfie

That was supposed to be sarcastic, its not really old fashioned to think 13 is too young to father a child.
The story is ridiculous, but unfortunately true. As far as I am aware, only British taxpayers will bare the burden of the maintenance or "welfare" of these children.
Id rather laugh at the story than let it get to me.

“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”- love it!
At least we know the baby is in safe hands.
