| BigCJ | 06-25-2016 04:27 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Not sure, but a lot of scammers seem to be coming out of the woodwork due to this.
Ive had to cancel around 5 orders in the last 3 hours.
edit: oops. Stocks. Dont touch those as of yet |
| JamesNorth101 | 06-25-2016 05:11 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? When it happened options trading was were the money was to be made
The £ was always going to take a massive hit against the $ only to recover a few hours / days later mostly
I imagine a lot of people made a lot of money on that |

| dan_ebay | 06-25-2016 07:13 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? you could sell some bricks if we've not started the leave process by the end of the year |
| Klemantina | 06-25-2016 09:23 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? I had so much fun this day. 5 hours of wild ups and downs, eventually I made lots of $ shorting the pound and buying gold. The stress of being a day trader specially pays off on those kind of volatile days :) |
| newjerseymax | 06-25-2016 09:58 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? I bought Gold before the vote. Almost 5% rise in one day not bad....
Now is a good time to buy stocks that went lower just because the market went lower... Its more of a few months strategy now then immediate.... Almost everything is on sale right now.... |
Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Shorting was the way to go here - have to wait a bit more time if you're buying for long holding or hoping it will go up |
| RosieTosie | 06-27-2016 04:08 AM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Nothing is happening over here yet apart from the Labour Party imploding |
| JamesNorth101 | 06-27-2016 12:13 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Nothing new there. Recently that has happened a few times |
| newjerseymax | 06-27-2016 01:31 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? This will take months, years..... The important thing to watch is if anyone else is dropping out.... |

| slapped | 06-27-2016 03:07 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Buying Index Puts in like the S&P 500, Russell 2000, S&P 100, buying Gold, Stocks, Bullion, or Futures, Shorting the Pound, Buying Dollars, and Many more strategies, all would have produced substantial profits PRIOR to the vote.
As of Today I see a LOT of Stocks and sectors that are oversold, Technology for one, Intel, Texas Instruments, AMD and more are good buys now, Banks like JP Morgan, even though they have enormous exposure in Britain, are in my opinion are oversold at this point and may in the long run turn out to be Bargains,,,there is a lot going on right now.
Just do the PROPER RESEARCH for yourself, and there is a LOT of VALUE out there |
| aspkin | 06-27-2016 03:46 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Personally, I liquidated Friday last week.
You never know what's going to happen but to me it looks like the start of a bear market.
It could be years of declines before things turn around.
Maybe I'm wrong.
I'll stay in the sidelines until I see how things are playing out. |
| yankee | 06-27-2016 05:52 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? World politics on every continent may keep the markets volatile for a year or years even. I look for the bright spots such as the bottom of the South American economy and the stability of the slow moving asia economy.
When things are uncertain, Gold, Silver and some other commodities predictable inflate but hard to know for sure when the slip back will hold such as right when Osama Bin Laden was killed. No one could have predicted the silver/Gold run to halt and slip back for four consecutive years.
If I was focused on short term I would invest in my own businesses. |

I'll stay in the sidelines until I see how things are playing out. | I understand your fears. I simply feel that this whole thing is absolutely overhyped, yes there will be a period of a little turmoil, but in the end Britain will negotiate new trade deals which will not be all that different than what they have now, once that begins to become apparent, I think that this nonsense will come to an end.
As for Britain's borders, they will be SUBSTANTIALLY tightened for now, after all the government needs to show the People who voted for the exit something, and honestly, I think that will be a good thing, less completion for jobs, and less of a drain on Social Resources, which become drastically more expensive for countries with advanced economies such as Great Britain with Open Border policies.
As for Britain's relationship with the USA and other countries throughout the world, not much, if anything at all will change. Its not like they are going back to being a Monarchy, now that would have catastrophic consequences.
Just my 2 cents |
| slapped | 06-28-2016 09:00 AM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? well, there is your stock market rebound,,,opened up 200 Points today,,a good sign that Brexit is really not having that deep of an effect, |
Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Is BREXIT not an ideal example of how paper currency is so awful?! How you could work day in, day out, and just because of the political situation outside, the value of your hard work is diminished!
I think e-currency (i.e. BTC) will begin to reign supreme in the coming years, and the monetary system will become electronic with little to no paper currency.
P.S. BREXIT is just an example, look into it further, you will come to find many other countries, in/out of Europe have had the value of their currency decline dramatically as a result of political situations. |

However, how is E-currency any different. What is the intrinsic value of e-currency? We can at least wipe our butts with paper currency, e-currency just disappears even though there are some benefits to them.
That brings us to a not so perfect system but the best. Gold/Silver or other commodities of value. |

But I meant in terms of day to day use, people should consider putting money into things like BTC. Yes its a volatile currency, but in this day in age, I would argue paper currency is as volatile with political feuds on the increase. |

| newjerseymax | 06-30-2016 10:20 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Yup seen it over and over again... Lots of things were on sale... Got in on it. at least if we get another dip, not much lost, it would have to fall drastically now to do much damage on my end. Now I'm gonna sit and wait it out a bit and just let the dividends work for themselves a little while... |

| slapped | 07-01-2016 08:03 AM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Still exercise caution, although I still believe that the whole thing is overhyped, the fact is that the price of Gold has still not begun to return to Pre Vote levels, as a matter of fact it seems to be poised for even more price increases, this to me clearly indicates that there is still a lot of caution out there.
As Im sure most of you know, Gold has long been a safe haven for wealth in times of economic turmoil |
| vogeltron | 07-03-2016 05:26 PM | Re: BREXIT, opinions, insights, trades...??? Gold and Silver mining stocks are still crushing it. I bought First Majestic silver in January/Feb for just over $3 now its nearly $15. |

As Im sure most of you know, Gold has long been a safe haven for wealth in times of economic turmoil | Plus the Paper Gold contracts at COMEX are 400 to 1 for each ounce of Physical. If you have a delivery problem either at Comex or the LBMA the price is going to explode like no one can imagine. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:19 AM. | |
