I was wondering what people use for bubble mailers or prefer.

Do you use poly or craft bubble mailers, and why so, do you like them?



I'll go 1st, I prefer the poly bubble bags since they glue sticks on better.

I am trying to cut down on weight when shipping, so I switched over to using more bags vs using boxes. It has cut my shipping costs down, mostly in cheaper cost of the bags vs boxes.

I use Priority mail bubble mailers then shove those in Poly Mailers....the Priority Bubble Mailers are free.

I guess they only come in 9.5x 12.5

I used to love the padded flat rate envelopes, but since they raised the postage and the weight limit for first class i ship everything first class now , my items packaged are 15-16oz.

I get the poly tuffgard bubble mailers, they are lined with 5/16 bubbles , from uline , with the larger bubbles lined it has nice protection, little expensive, i think like .46 cents each but im savin $2.45 per item on postage now that i ship first class

I actually do, I need about an 1-1.5 inches wider. But I can still use some with your method. I can get some ploy bags for 5 cents each instead of 22 cents for poly bubble bags.

Uline is much more expensive for me vs ebay prices.

Yes Uline is expensive, the shipping charges are high, but this one particular item is not carried by every eBay seller like all the other shipping supplies, they are poly mailers made with the larger bubbles than the norm

Everyone carrries poly mailers lined with the 3/16 size bubbles but u cant find 5/16 bubble lined mailers

bubble wrap + poly bags for smaller items, padded envelopes for flat items and bubble wrap + cardboard boxes for medium/large items.

Love myself a padded envelope tho, for flat items. I wish ALL my items were that easy to ship.

Need to move to a different category I think- More iPhone chargers and batteries, postcards and fresh air.

poly bags all day. I luv um. cheap and convenient... and saves on shipping fees...

I use Priority Mail Bubble Mailers all day every day as bubble wrap inside my first class packages. Can't beat free bubble wrap.

But I get super-cheap bubble mailers by the pallet from sunuku.com. They are a manufacturer and I've found that their prices can't be beat, even after factoring in shipping charges. There are TONS of Ebay sellers who dropship Sunuku bubble mailers.

Poly bags, the majority of my shipments go Poly bags. Tough, i dont count on waterproof but they help. My only true complaint is that the standard peel and stick Laser labels can come off the poly kind of easy (especially when its cold), so i tape the top and bottom. If I am concerned about damage i bubble wrap and poly-bag the item. I have been shipping it for years this way, unless weight makes it cheaper to use flat rate boxes, I order medium USPS flat rate boxes by the 100's free from online, delivered to the door by my carrier (I like the spider-man ones). :behindsofa:

You could save hundreds per year (depending on how much you ship, I guess) buy ordering some of every size Priority mail box. The regional rate boxes offer MUCH better pricing than the flat rate boxes.

Just putting that out there. I don't think Ebay does postage for Regional rate boxes, but it would be worth getting a stamps.com/endicia account for.

I will check it out again. I was going to use the regional boxes a couple of years ago and didn't. Now that you mention it, i dont remember exactly why I decided not to now.:brick:

Trust me, it's worth it. I can send a 10x7x4.75 5lb Regional Rate A box all the way across the country for $6.60.

Besides that, it's also worth it to stock up on their non flat/regional rate boxes. A lot of the time it's also way cheaper to ship a Priority package by weight/DIM rather than using a Flat Rate box.

I keep the Flat Rate boxes stocked up but it's extremely rare for me to use Priority Flat Rate postage. If I have an order that happens to fit perfectly in a Flat Rate box, I will cover up the part that says "Medium Flat Rate box" or whatever with Priority mail stickers, and ship by weight/DIM. It is nearly always cheaper.

There are many benefits of using bubble mailers as it offers superior cushioning for the items protection also there make courier lighter in weight.
