Turkey in strife again

Turkish President Erdogan appears in Istanbul to denounce army coup attempt - BBC News

Turkey again facing upheavals.

Another coup attempt to erode the government, and the underlying stability issues.

Sad that people are again killed in the name of politics.

You know... This is 2016 that we live in, but sometimes I feel like we are still doing some leftover money **** from 16th century.

Running people over with trucks, overtaking governments, babies being snatched in Disneyland... Some orange dude running for president.

****ing hell, calm down people- Theres no need for stuff like that.

Looks like its over before it really got started.
Dont know if that's a good thing or a bad one. Pretty sure that Erdogan and his regime is not what Ataturk originally had in mind for Turkey...

I've been to Turkey and anyone that has will notice two things.

1. A beautiful country with kind people
2. And a country with two identities, western and eastern, can be good but can also create issues

Just hope things stay calm as much as possible for the sake of civilians

Yes the bridges over the Bosforus are clearly a weak point for them at times like this. At least it seems to be all over bar the shouting now. Makes you wonder how lucky they have been this time that there was relatively little support for the coup amongst the military. The government is controversial and don't pay the army enough to get the right people in it hence future maybe much better supported coups could be a real possibility.

So far from what Ataturk had in mond for the country.

I have a slightly upset older brother. He flew out of Nice on Bastille Day about the same time as the attack on the Promenade des Anglais. Went to Budapest and then flew into Istanbul jist as the bridges closed.

He is so going to buy lottery tickets

:peace:

well they say luck comes in threes...or is that buses?

In terms of the Turkish leaders hashness, you have to be harsh, it is the only thing some people understand...

these groups like the Kurds, they are pests, all these groups are, 'rebels', what are rebels? just pests - like in Syria, messing it up for people who want to live in peace, stirring.

The kurds wanted their own homeland, even though Turkey had a policy of uniting and non split groups/seperation, tribal nonsense, but the kurds kicked up a fuss, its tough, nobody likes a pest, stirrer, complainers, and if you dont have the money to buy your own Land outright, then assimilate and shutup...sick of these people...only ones I feel sorry for are the ones who are caught up in it that do not make those decisions, alot being women and kids...
