After announcing they have only 15% stake on Pokemon Go, Nintendo's stock plummeted into the abyss.

Hehe yes, talk about shooting yourself in the foot!, them announcing that despite the super popularity of the new game and the upturn in the share price, they would not actually make that much profit out of the new Go game. Hence instant drop in share price.

There are people wandering around all over the place with mobiles in hand looking for those things. Anywhere that has the right sort of Pokemon has several people almost camped out around it guarding it from oncomers who might want to poach it from under their noses. We got lost couple days ago in our local town and ended up in a an entry to a car park that we couldn't get into to turn round, but my husband loved it 'cos he found a quite rare Pokemon there!

Haha no, that Pokemon Go does my head in to be honest rsot, especially when my husband gets going on it!

Poor 'ol Nintendo... Just ****ting the bed every 2-3 years. This Pokemon 15% might be the biggest of them all.

I just hope they will hang on and perhaps hire better business people to give them advice. Such a bad move.

I was mind blown when I saw that news, I can't imagine how they were only able to get 15% of it / perhaps they didn't see its full potential so didn't care as much as they should of

I wouldn't be surprised if some guys at nintendo sold some stock before they made this announcement.

Yes this whole situation smacks of them doing exactly that what with Nintendo over there and 'Sir' Philip Green or 'Greed' people over here are calling him, having helped himself to most of the BHS pension pot, saying he was going to sort it out, then doing nothing, so nowthey have started to threaten to take away his knighthood. He has gone amazingly quiet since then. Some have been saying his 3 mega yachts should be seized and sold to replace that pension pot, sounds about right really. No wonder he then sold the British Homes Stores to the multiple ex bankrupt ex racing driver Chappell for just £1! You couldn't make it up if it wasn't so abominably true!

Nintendo has been saying for the last year that their new focus for nx is in mobiles. So no idea why they didn't invest more. I assumed Nintendo owned Pokemon go 100% since well it's POKEMON.

I see stocks pop like that too many times not to place trailing stops.. hope people did at least a 5% trailing stop and didn't lose too much.

I believe this stock wont suffer too much more. While it was a horrible marketing approach to announce such information, this wont be too massive. Expect Nintendo to go back to the average parameters it exhibits in trading versus the surge it has experiences as of recently.

On another note, while Nintendo owns massive amounts of intellectual property, the company should worry in the macro perspective of the gaming market. Many more competitors are destroying what once was almost a monopoly.

That's just garbage. They have released all those games in the past on Wii and wiiu. And there are 0 plans to introduce any other compatible games.

It's just a generic gimmick designed to make money.
