Anyone know anything about diamonds?

If anyone here knows anything about diamond rings please pm me. I need to sell the ring but not sure how to go about it to get the best price. It is a large antique diamond ring the totaling over 6ct. The middle stone is 3 and there are two smaller stones on each size that are about 2ct each. Platinum setting.

I haven't had it tested or appraised yet, I should start there I am sure.

I don't want to sell it on ebay. That is for sure. I am just wondering the best way to go to get close to what it is worth.

well as a guide, that sounds like a very expensive piece, depending on diamond quality, not sure if i would sell it to just anyone who bids on ebay in case of scammer, I would sell at jewellers or up market auction. I have a 2ct bezel set solitaire diamond and gold ring, with many 1/8 carats along shanks and it cost £5000, 5 years ago, yours sounds very much larger, Ive seen 3 carats at £8-10000. However as we know retail is different to what you get when selling it yourself, so whatever you see it for retail, knock a third off at least.
