Looking for input.. (IPBurger Banners)

I'm having banners designed for IPBurger and I'm not too sure about them.. I gave them a 6/10 for design.

Any suggestions/ideas? Or do you like them and think they're okay?

I personally like it, clean and simple sort of clipart design.

It is not distracting and friendly in my opinion. I would give it at least 8 out of 10.
I would only change the font... don't like very much the way "IP" looks.

Personally I would get rid of some of the white space and make the lettering "pop" a little more.

BTW I like your font more but I didn't have it on my laptop. I've always overused scan-lines lol.

Edit: Just realized some of the scan-lines spilled over into that red stripe, which I didn't mean to do. I think they'd look good in the white space though.

The red of the banner pops very nicely. IPburger and the forum uses blue as its main colour so that banner would stand out.

I do agree that the text on the right seems a little bit messy.

I like the 'Fresh IPs Served Up Daily' slogan but in those banners its so small that it really gets lost. I would play around with that a little bit. It may be that making it larger looks a bit daft but it may be worth looking at just to see if it works

My 2 cents...

If you're using 2 levels of reading (making part of the text stand up, such as bold and bigger fonts) make sure it makes sense. AVAILABLE INSTANTLY is pretty clear, but what? FRESH IP ADDRESS ;)

So, make it bold (FRESH IP ADDRESS) and little bigger than the rest of the text, so, in one sec , the eye will read FRESH IP ADDRESS, AVAILABLE INSTANTLY.

Also, credit cards logos are cool and its a way to communicate you're accepting many payments methods; but you're not selling VCCs, so don't make them so big so they don't compete with what you're really trying to sell which are IPs :)

I'll pass that along. :thumb:

Personally I don't see the connection between burgers and IPs...

I like the banners. Though if I am going to construcitvely criticise, I would say it's too "busy". There's just too much going on.

Usually with ads, your either promoting the brand or the product/service. Rarely do you see both at the same time.

If your going to promote Fresh IPs, then dedicate the entire banner to just that, with a small IP burger logo underneath.

... and vice versa if your going to promote the brand.

Here are too examples of what I mean...

... Design in general, I like it. Phazorz design on the other hand looks tacky (just my honest opinion).

Ha! Okay, thanks for the feedback.

I guess we'll use it as a placeholder until I get a better design cooking. :)

The banner looks good, but I agree with JamesNorth. The slogan is extremely catchy and should pop to get the customer's attention. A catchy slogan will stay with people and let them remember your service when its needed.

I would also change the classic burger into a modern version. The one shown is a classic burger but this is a tech website. Perhaps a digitalized burger or an equivalent would look good?

I like it colour and design-wise, I prefer the last one, in terms of a narrow banner at the top is neater

Off subject, but for some reason lately (today also) the ip address doesn't appear and it kind gets stuck in a waiting loop. Once I refresh then I get the IP appears. Happens 4 out of 5 times for me on every account. Not sure if issue on my end.

Love the banners and slogan!

Are you talking about IPBurger.com?

I find when switching IPs it takes a moment before you should refresh IPBurger.com to see the new IP. If you try to refresh before you're fully connected than you get the waiting screen on IPBurger.

I forget why we added it but I'll check and see if we can make it better.

Re: Looking for input.. (IPBurger Banners)

Aspkin I am sorry I have been out of town for a week and away from my computer!

I do national advertising as my main business so I would ask you the #1 Money question......

Who is your ideal customer and why?

More often then not a business owner will have 3 - 5 different buyer personas

Let's say you have two different buyer personas

Persona A - Buyer who need the convenience of having all his ips with one backend for easy management and payment

Persona B - Buyer who wants to hide from the NSA

Now I would ask you how do the different buyers come into your selling funnel.

Here I am assuming you can dive into your Google analytics and pull the different persona search queries from your PPC and SEO panels (Hopefully you have SEO analytics set up)

Usually, you will have some cross performing keywords but for many of the keywords, you should see conversions of one persona or the other.

Here is where you earn your money in advertising and boost conversions because now you can target your advertising to that persona on those specific keywords.

IE - run different ads to people based on what they are looking for.

The more you can talk directly to your customer the higher your conversions will be.

With that said the ad itself has some structural challenges many of which have been brought out here already such as font type, credit card logos etc.

For me, the biggest thing is the red color! Yes, it pops but it also subliminally is a stop cue! When a potential customer is in our funnel the very last thing we want them to do is stop!

Green and white are the highest converting colors with blue and yellow next red and orange are the lowest!

Sorry, MM78 to much orange although I think if we A/B tested your ad with Aspkins yours would probably get more conversions.

I also think it was mentioned to ditch the credit cards and PayPal.... I absolutely agree everyone assumes you take PayPal that can be verified on the checkout page, not on your prime real estate of your ad!

I don't mean to tear your ad down because I'm sure you put a lot of time into it. It's amazing how much time the small things take.

On a positive note, I love the hamburger and the white space is perfect. You have to have white space and overall layout of the design.

Colors and messaging are key now.

Re: Looking for input.. (IPBurger Banners)

Thanks for your feedback tom191, I agree with a lot of what you say.

I'll use these banners as placeholders until I can get new ones drafted. I didn't design these myself or put much thought into the message (I rushed into it).

I like your idea of about the colors but look at McDonald's logo. It's red and yellow. It draws attention but of course too much red means stop/warning.

There needs to be balance.

Thanks for the feedback.
