Important or not? Logging off of the forum
 

I have been using this site for a while now, but for some reason never chose the option to log out when exiting a forum session.

Yesterday, I chose to exit the site by choosing "Log Out".

3 seconds later I got a message that I was indeed logged out and all cookies have been deleted.

So I have 2 questions:

1. Are PP, EB & AMZ looking for cookies of those that visit the forum? I never considered this until I received the notice about erasing the cookies..

2. Is it recommended to visit the forum from a user account not associated with any stealth accounts?

Forgive me if I missed it, but I don't remember any talk about logging out of the forum to clear cookies and remain stealth.

Listen to me carefully, walk slowly to towards the windows, close the curtains, then go downstairs to the basement put a tin foil hat on, then wait until we give you further instructions

Nah, it's not an issue. You'll be fine using the forum without having to log out or use different user accounts. :)

eBay/PayPal/Amazon ect ect cannot see cookies from websites other then their own.

Actually.. I believe it may be possible.

* It depends on browser settings and the browser you use however.

Hah bigboss - you are going to get some people paranoid.

Well...be that as it may....I haven't had accounts go down while being on them and the forum.../knock on wood

Awhile back there was this whole thing about how due to a loophole in most browsers any website could see what websites you have visited in the past.. I'm not sure if it's closed or not nor have I been able to locate that information again..

On these websites explaining how it was done.. you would see a list of the websites you previously visited.. it was interesting.

This was a few years back so the loophole may be closed.
